I only plate my two trucks four months outa the year only cause my 5.3 only gets 11.6 avarage MPG and my 94/is more so a project truck. I can drive to work and back on $80/month in my Sunfire weres my 2013 5.3 cost me about $550+/month in fuel so who's laughing now.

Somebody? I lost my conky translator.

Wow .... way cheaper than up here. I just filled up premium @ 2.34 - that's the cheapest I've paid for it in 12 years.

MA taxes ...

Put a new battery in the truck before I found myself somewhere with a dead one. Twice this week the DIC told me to start it so it wouldn't die.

My window sticker says I'm supposed to have such a system. Never once has the truck warned me of a low battery. Only time I've ever run it down, I was close to the house, so it was never an issue ... but WTF - why say it has something when it's never worked?

When the truck had 2k miles on it, I had the radio going for 7 hours or so, while my brother & I installed a tonneau, cold-air intake, Corsa exhaust, step rails, & a Hypertech canned program. I went to start it to hear the new exhaust - CLICK ... and the dashboard went nuts. Lit up like a Christmas tree. Charged the battery, then got SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM warning, presumably from the high surface charge still in the battery.

Brought it to dealer under warranty a few months later, when I went out to start it, and for NO reason whatsoever, the battery was flat-dead -- just like if the headlights were left on all night. Not even a click. Dealer increased the duty cycle of the alternator, and it's been fine since ... except for one other unexplained battery flattening a few winters back.

Electronics for ya ... :nonod:

Ya well I don't get how here in Canada oil is at $30/barrel and gas is still $1.05/liter.

Probably all your federal, provincial, & local taxes all piled up on one another.

In all seriousness thou, it the first three, plus any recoup cost the business is trying to make from the taxes they have to pay…

Fuel prices finally dropped here to 83.9/ L. Still crazy high but compared to some places in the states but its still a way better price then a couple years ago when I was paying 1.40/ L

Ontario gas price break down…

  • Crude Costs – 41 per cent
  • Refiner Operating Margin – 23 per cent
  • Marketing Operating Margin – 5 per cent
  • Provincial Excise Tax – 11 per cent
  • Federal Excise Tax – 8 per cent
  • Provincial HST – 7 per cent
  • Federal GST/HST – 5 per cent

That's 4 separate taxes…

I heard Puerto Rico is starting a VAT. Supposedly on the verge of bankruptcy. Wonder if they are changing their mind about that last statehood vote

Wouldn't shock me one bit if MA decides to jam that one down our throats soon ...

Have the next few days off so I put it up for sale. Not ready with a replacement so I priced it a bit high.

I still really can't decide if I want my next car to be fully loaded or just stripped. I was wanting something I could beat the crap out of without a second thought but I'm really spoiled from the Wife's car having Automatic cruise. Trust me, don't drive a car with one if you arent in the market, takes a ton of stress out of busy or hectic highways.

I have read journalists complain about most manufacturers systems not working that well or being quirky but my wife's car seems to do it perfectly well and she hasn't had a single complaint.

Didn't even know such a thing existed! '07 is about as close to new as I'll ever get going forward.

Sounds like that was designed for MA highways - nothing but bumper-to-bumper speed-up, slow-down traffic ... constantly.
