A lady told me my tire fell off and i walked around my truck thinking a main wheel fell. Saw it and looked for the spare. It was at the parking lot entrance. I caught hell for returning to the shop with my uniform black

How much did that run you if you don't mind me asking?

It was $100 or so. The version I bought doesn't have the faulty latch that locks the tire up and makes it impossible to get down. That's why I got rid of the original. Just finally got tired of having the spare in the bed.

Ohhh okay. Dad had that trouble with his truck when he had the bed off. I'll probably take mine back down next year and make something to hold it under there. I did that with my 88 GMC and it worked good.

Putting up lights in my shop and fighting with an ignorant T5 fixture... and wiring problems from the shop itself. I have a bunch of neutrals and none go back to the neutral bar in the breaker panel.... I love troubleshooting wiring hidden in walls...

Don't need one.... and they really don't work all that great either. My luck is some dumbass rammed a drywall screw through the cable and broke the neutral. I much prefer conduit on the outside for this very reason.... and not residential garbage where wire markers are never used.

A toner has helped me a lot. I used to do communication and had to track runs of cable

I am an electrician and an instrument tech.... I don't use them. My meter is a lot more reliable and no false signals.

After 4 years, I put a new spare tire winch on the pickup. The spare is back where it belongs for the first time in a long time.[emoji38]

I replaced the spare tire winch ($105) on mine when I pulled the bed and applied Chassis Saver to the frame. (Two winters and the frame looks as good as the day I applied it.) I've tested the winch a couple of times and it works like new. I like the spare under the bed!

I am an electrician and an instrument tech.... I don't use them. My meter is a lot more reliable and no false signals.

They are handy when tracking down phone and data lines

How did you prep the frame for the Chassis Saver? I have some but I haven't gotten around to applying it yet.

 

The recovered cargo space will be really nice. The tire is the original spare, and it loses some air. When I get new tires in ~15,000 miles, I'll buy 5 I guess.

 

One of my tires is losing about 5 psi a week, I'm pretty sure it's the valve stem. If not, 35,000 miles without a puncture is very good for where I drive. These tires have been great.
