I use these connectors on everything. I'd use the DS1 terminals with male bullet connectors on this page for tapping into the OBD-II wires - much better than those crap autoparts store red and blue blade connectors. http://vintageconnections.com/

EDIT - link didn't work as planned - go to "Prices" in left column and scroll down a bit ...

I'm seeing spark plug terminals on that page?

Maestro RR needs you to tap into the OBDII dianostic socket wires to fees the info to the stereo if it has gauge capability.

It doesnt matter for me, thw 8100 doeant supporr the gauge functions.

Did a lot of back and forth between 4100 and 8100(7100 was no go for me, if Im spending that much Ill get the better touch screen). Decided ny car had factory nav, so I should go with a unit with built in nav. Never know when Your phone or network will crap out....and this will be our traveling vehicle.

They're not spark plug terminals - they're much smaller, and fit right on 12-22 gauge wire. The picture is a super close- up. I can take a pic tomorrow of one in my hand for reference.

The DS1 accepts the 4mm male bullet connector elsewhere on the page. The way they crimp to the wire ensures a long, trouble-free wire connection, probably better than GM OEM connections. The catch is you need the right crimper to do those. They sell the fancy, expensive one there - I own that one, but still prefer to use my cheap simple one most of the time. Since the fancy one crimps both sections at the same time (one to the copper wire, and one to the jacket), some connectors won't sit right in the tool (I still have a 15 year old stockpile left over).

Well spotted one white buffalo of the two and only one brown one off I 94.

I started swearing at my truck yesterday after he was sitting in the sun for x-hours.

The air coming out of the vents was just lukewarm.

It took me a few minutes to realize that I pressed the rear window heater button instead of the AC button.

My fingers are to big or the buttons are to small

What a relieve when the air came out ice cold in 31*C outside temperature.

so long

Think I'm going to order those 4 way pioneer speakers to replace the factory Bose. $128 for four and brackets, just need to cut off the old plug and solder wires to the speaker. I was practicing earlier today, I though I was awful but turns out my old 35w solder gun stunk. Got a 60 watt for $10 on Amazon, works a lot better.

Not sure how well they will work for bose replacements

EDIT: just canceled my order, crutchfields mobile site is missing info, found some 2 ohm speakers....

Did a lot of reading at a bunch of sites. Since I'm replacing the HU also the only remaining bose component(besides the piller tweeters and sub) is the amp. They only side effect I read is that the 2 ohm amp going from 2 to 4 ohm speakers is reduced maximum volume 3dB, with factory head unit at least) due to higher resistance (less effenciency) than the old speakers. But since the new speakers and HU are much cleaner, more powerful, and higher quality than the factory set up, the sound quality should be massively improved. Those pioneer speakers have user reviews praising great full range of sound.

Where you hit a big problem is running a more efficient speaker with less efficient amp.

I didnt see the JBL earlier, but I remember I read an old post somewhere saying replacing the bose speakers with [probably an older model] 2 ohm JBL was a big difference changes. no volume loss. Wonder if those infinitys are worth the $80 more? probably just paying for the name

and 3 ohm....just as an fyi

That's funny, it's the opposite for me. But if you play it right when you get older you have a loud fast truck, a quite cruiser with good tunes, and a sport car.[emoji106]

Looks like a wiring hassle, so I ended up ordering the JBL 2 ohm so I don't have volume loss(some podcasts I listen too are horrible at getting their sound levels high enough to hear), and keep the amp since they will work together perfectly. The new headunit should ooen things up in sound quality. Supposed to be great speakers with good low end, I can always change out the factory tweeters if the high end doesn't please. I started thinking that with the 4 way's I'd have 12 tweeters overall. Seemed like overkill!

If I get everything in time I shoukd have it done late Friday. I'll probably put the speakers in Thursday if I can do it fast enough.
