Price for R&R FUEL PUMP

I need to get the pump and sending unit replaced since the gage is going whacko and the pump has 95K on it. I have heard wide range of prices from people who had it done in a shop. This truck is a 2001 Silvy. Anyone got experience with a shop doing the work. Hoping it is less than $450.00

Not a tech, but there has been a lot of talk about replacing fuel pumps on this site. Personally I'd check out some online videos and if you're at all mechanically inclined, do it yourself and save some money. I've watched some of them and it seems it's easiest to pull the bed vs dropping the tank.

Prices vary widely. You can spend $280 just on the pump or or go with a cheap one. With a cheap ass pump, you could have it done for around $500 somewhere

with tank shield 3.1 hrs plus an add on of .2 for a 2 pc drivehsaft

Don't go with aftermarket pump or you'll end up paying labor twice.

Gm pump was $330. Total quote at dealer was $700. - $1100. with labor.

Do it yourself. super easy.

If your tank is half to full, unbolt the bed, tilt upward on the drivers side, leaving the pass. bolts loose.

Undo the tail light wiring, gas filler, and ground strap.

Or unbolt bed, move 2 feet back, on the frame. (safer way)

Or, if it is close to empty, drop the tank. You will need a disconnect tool, for the fuel line.
