Respect or Disrespect?

The only negative things I hear about my truck are from people I know, here are some examples

1. Why does it ride so rough?

2. It's so high to step into when are you going to get steps on it (not going to so they can go f**k themselves)

3. Why is the stock exhaust so loud?

4. Why didn't you get a crew cab? (I didn't f**king want one)

5. Why is there such a big gap between the bottom of the fenders and the top of the tires

6. Why can you see the frame underneath the truck?

My only conclusion is that everyobdy I know is a bunch of pussies

Complete strangers always give me great compliments, most "truck type" guys always say they never see a 3/4 ton in as nice condition and as "new looking" as mine. Almost every one of them does a double take after I show them how all parts have been painted underneath by me.

I get more negative political comments than anything (ie Government Motors) This is mainly from the Ford diehards. I didn't buy a truck as a political statement; I bought what I wanted. We still live in America right?

Usually though I don't hear very much negative. Most everyone who knows me understands I can give as well or better than I get. I honestly don't care what negatives I hear, when they start forking over my payment I might start paying attention. I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon.

As long as you're happy with your truck (or anything for that matter), that's the only opinion that counts.

You need to remind those ignorant Ford owners that ford was worse off than either GM or Chrysler, and had to arrange huge credit way before either GM or Chrysler. By the time they were in trouble as deep as Ford, credit had dried up and Uncle Sam had to bail 'em.

I will receive compliments most of the time on the stance or over all appearance. The only thing is when they ask if it is 4wd and I say no because I did not need it at the time. It usually goes like this "It's not 4wd? Why would you get a truck that's not 4wd? I would have gotten a 4wd".

Well.. some black guy called me a redneck fagot bc I was in his way at the gas station. Needless to say I was with my wife two children. I just smiled and laughed at him. Just another p*$$y runny his mouth. I'm glad words don't piss me off bc I'm always armed.

Ha...where do you live?

In the south of course. GA.

No one has disrespected my Sierra yet. Back when I had a Nissan I used to get a lot of ribbing because the red paint had oxidized to look pink instead. I recall when some kids that had hassled me were out four wheeling near where I was working, and they ended up stuck. Full size Chevy, stuck in the mud. My little Nissan pulled it out with little problem. Certainly put those kids in their place!

I mostly get compliments on my truck. Most don't realize it is a work truck till you open the door and see the manual window cranks and manual door locks. Hey, it's paid for!! Getting a few dents and dings here and there though. Don't look as good as it used too. I don't have any Dodge owners crowing about their trucks but the Ford folks make up for that. Ha ha.

I mostly get compliments on my truck. The last one I got was at the dealership when I took it in for service. The service advisor said "Glad to see some people are still taking care of the vechile, you have a nice truck there." I guess he sees all kinds come through
