Can I use 99-02 wheels?

Has anybody tries to fit the factory 16 inch alloys from the 99-02 body style on the 05-06 model trucks? I'd rather have 16" wheels because tires are cheaper and I like the look compared to 17's. I don't want to go aftermarket tho. I like the style and I wanna keep the factory offset and all. Thanks.

Yes. Enjoy the better brakes, I hated the setup in my 2003- spongy pedal, rear ate pads and it had weak stopping power.

I know they have better brakes, I just hate buyin tires for 17's lol

Mine were $650 out the door including an alignment, pretty reasonable considering the cheapest 20" I could find local was $200 per tire, not counting install.

Be thankful you don't have 18s. More expensive and the selection sucks. I may get new 17s when it's time for tires.

i dont find 17' wheels to be more expensive.

i bought stock 17's to replace my stock 16's as a matter of fact, and i got 285/70/17 tires for about 750 out the door

The tires for my 20's were less than $700 installed

I was in the same spot you are... But I'm happy with my GMC 17s, I think they look better than the 5 spoke old Chevy style.

Seems like tires cost more but still not bad, ones I looked at were $190 each with 50k warranty (falken).

That's not too bad. I think I'm goin back to a stock size highway tread anyway. I have a 78 chevy on 36 inch swampers and a 4wd ATV so I think I can get away with street tires on my DD lol. That should help keep costs down.
