I was curious if anyone is running Linux Mint or Ubuntu. I am about to install Linux Mint Cinnamon and dual boot it with Windows 7

I ran Redhat for years, and recently (couple of years ago) switched to Ubuntu.

Now I'm using a MacBook Pro and no longer use Linux, except for my home server.

At least with the Mac, I can use 'terminal' when I get the linux itch. ;)

No windows for me at all.

I run Ubuntu 12.04 on my office computer on it's own hardrive and windows on it's own hardrive. So I can dual boot... I love the new Ubuntu, and the new Chromium for Ubuntu is kick azz.

It says it cant copy files. there could be an issue with the disc. it boots from disc fine. i tried writing a new disc at a lower speed and that didnt fix it

Here's my error

"The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk:

[Errno 5] Input/output error

This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment."

I've downloaded some corrupt iso images before so you could run the checksums on those to make sure they aren't the source of the error. Usually it just requires a me to download the image again.

On the note of linux I've been using backtrack a little trying my hand at a little WEP cracking (on my own router of course). Have used Open Suse for class a little and would like to get some experience with Ubuntu server.
