Hmmm so most nitrogen machines only give you 95% purity, so all that trouble for 10% more overall nitrogen content...

Actually 79%, at 15% oxygen you'd have a hard time functioning...

 

but yeah, air in the tire is fine. I thought I read somewhere that the real benefit of nitrogen is that there little to no water, as most regular air compressors will have moisture in the air.

Nitrogen isnt affected as much by altitude and temp, that is why it is used in mil acft.

This is true but unless someone here is driving their truck at 35,000' for hours on end and touching down on a runway at like 150 MPH then this is a non issue. If it is a free service then go for it but if you want to pay for it then call me first, I got some oceanfront property in Kansas to sell you.

This was my understanding as well. Using nitrogen is supposed to help reduce corrosion inside the wheels, and potential sealing problems down the road.

Im curious about the temperature effect on nitrogen as well...

I wouldn't pay extra for it. When helping the girlfriend buy a car they wanted 200$ for it. Did you know if a tire has a green valve stem cap its got nitrogen in it? Anyways they gave the nitrogen for free because it come from the factory like that. Hyundai
