Home Theater System

Well, now that it's getting cooler I am shifting gears to the indoors..... which means I can start finishing my basement and build my home theater system . I already have my receiver, speakers, and woofer. I'm just looking for a good projector for under $2K and is the only thing I'm splurging on. Any suggestions? I'm looking at the BenQ M7000 at the moment.

 

Also, any cool bar ideas? I think the only cool thing in mind right now is putting a flat screen behind the bar mirror. Probably also going to give concrete counter tops a shot.

 

I'll post pictures as I progress. My goal is to have the Theater area and most of the bar area done by my son's 1st birthday in January.

Honestly the new LED TVs are awesome, if you can find one in your price range I'd go that route.

My bar is going to be made of glass.block and lit up. Same for a shelf the will hold the liquor

Not sure about heat since my LCD can give off a good amount too but yes on energy consumption. Well about 3 extra dollars worth a year.

I love my LED-LCD. But I want something bigger than 70" and Sharp makes an 80" but it's around $3200. I like Plasma in the right setting. Some times it seems like they are pixelated.

Have they fixed the picture issue where they will burn in the screen? I'll leave my PS3 or XBOX on, or when I'm trying to sleep I'll leave the cable ppv preview channel on. Only a small part of the screen has moving picture. I know plasma do have the blackest black's

I've never had an image burn in my Samsung plasma and I leave still images up on it for long periods of time. Your experience may differ tho.

I know they used to have the issue so I stayed away from them. Hell is like to have a section on here dedicated to tech stuff. I'm looking at a $1500 Bose sound bar to go with my 47" LCD in my living room. I listened to it in Best Buy. I was in a Bose store about a year ago they have a nice TV that can perfectly imitate surround sound with its on board speakers
