Debadge or Plasti-dip?

Try plastic dip and if it doesn't work, then you can debadge. But I think the plastic dip would look pretty good.

i think im gonna try the plasti-dip, but i may also order a set of OEM replacement nameplates and try painting them black chrome and see how that would work.

I removed mine sanded with a dremel used correct primer and paint and they still peeled in places after 6 months then I debadged ....go figure. My advice would be plasti dip thats my next move when I have time. Plus have you priced new badges???? Get your wallet out.

I plasti-dipped my badges and they turned out great. Best thing is if they start to peel, just peel it off and start over again. One $6 can is much better than new badges IMO. They will be a great contrast on your truck.

how well does the plasti-dip hold up to washing the truck?

It holds up well. I just bought a kit to do my rims on my camaro

Mine have held up extremely well and I wash my truck weekly. Just take your time, spray 4 to 5 coats and it should look great.

Did you tape them off, on the truck or take them off and paint then put back on?

Not trying to step on any toes here, but a bug deflector absolutely will save the front of your hood, there's no arguing that. I put the same miles on a 400 without, and a 400 with, and the one with the deflector really did pick up significantly fewer bugs on the windshield as well. On my 2006 I rarely even have to squeegee the bugs off, and my friends without them are constantly cleaning. My truck is anything but a street queen, and I am usually driving in rural areas, and I mean RURAL. Some may not need it, but for some of us, deflectors are necessary.

Not to jack the thread but where do you guys get the plastidip from? My buddy's wheels on his HD are blemished up pretty bad and we want to try this out.
