GMT900 Tahoe PPV Power Outlets Dead

Hello, I have a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle) and the front power outlets are dead. In fact, they have never worked as long as I have had the truck.

In the meantime, I have run an extension cord from the rear power port to the front of the truck... ugh!

I have checked the fuses on the left side of the dash (can't remember the slot locations), but they are good. Tonight, I was under the hood and #53 is good as well.

I have a protective services mission this Sunday and we're going to need the front outlets.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

they should be hot all the time. if all the fuses check good, get a test light and check the outlet (front & rear) wire may not be hook up. good luck.

Being a former police vehicle, they may have unplugged or even cut the wires to use them to power emergency lights or radio equiptment , depending on the installer. if the fuses are good, you may have to remove the dash trim panel and do a visual trace of the wire harness to the sockets. You may also try checking the junction block under the dash, they may have just unplugged that harness to use the spot for the equipment harness. Of course this is just a guess, but that's where I would start to look. otherwise try to find a wiring diagram for the vehicle to double check the harness locations and wire colors.

check the diag port for power under the dash where the scanners hook up ... we had a truck at work where they had plugged a inverter into the port and cooked the wire behind the dash. the fuse feed both the power port and the diag plug in the truck

Thanks for the reply. Anyone have the part numbers for the replacement sockets? It looks like I have 12VDC to the harness but not to the sockets, so I presume they went dead.
