Used for other things then smoking. Tokens, toll receipts, change and more.

Mine came with one that just sits in the compartment next to the cupholders, but I keep it in the console since I don't smoke. From the look of the ashtray and smell of the truck, pretty sure the 1st owner didn't either.

So few people smoke now that a ash train I see is kinda useless to ahave in a truck , much better to have a nice organizer that is meant to hold things .

 

I look at smoking as gross same with most people now. I see why companies dont want to have them in vehicals why associate your self with a gross habit and make it easyier for people to do so.

That is exactly my point. The ashtray is a built in sliding drawer. To put stuff in.

or instead of a ash tray that is kinda awkard it could be a actual nice deeper, rectangle sliding box thing that can actualy hold stuff nice. I have a ash tray in my truck and its a awkard thing to put stuff in .

How can in this day and age not put some sort of an armwrest in a sedan?

Poor design.

 

With a clean sheet of paper to make a sedan with no armwrest is criminal.
