Catch can causing oil consumption on AFM motor?

Do you guys think that having a catch can would cause any oil consumption issues?

 

I had a valve spring replaced recently and not sure if that is part of it or not. I'm going to take it in soon and see if they can find out what is going on and put the dye in there. I checked under the truck and there are no visible oil leaks anywhere that I can see.

 

I have been running M1 but might try Castrol at the next oil change.

I didn't think that it would, just curious. It was full and clogged so that might have had something to do with it. I don't have time to get to the dealer right now for them to do the oil consumption test but I need to change my oil soon anyways. I might do my own oil consumption test for now and see if it was a fluke thing or starting to burn oil.

 

If I do find that it is burning oil, will GM accept my trackings as proof there is a consumption issue?

I would recommend giving the dealer a call and seeing if your own records would help them if you find anything. Keep me posted and let me know if you need anything else.
