I like the ones without hooks. Any tractor supply should have decent ones. I think mine is a 20000 pound rating. Make sure you use them like a chain without jerking.

No hooks. Get one larger than you think you need. You might need to tow the space shuttle somewhere. :D

i just wanted something in case i needed it. where do you hook the hooks?? the only points are on the front of my truck. most cars and trucks have front points to hook to. do i have to pull in reverse??

I'd recommend hooking it to your rear hitch. I learned from experience that in slippery conditions when you're hooked on at the front you have virtually no maneuverability. If you're trying to pull straight backwards on a level surface hooking to the front works fine. But if you're trying to pull someone out of a ditch, odds are if you hook to the front you'll join them because you have no way to steer your truck.

agreed. hitch is really the only way to go. front tow hooks only if you have no choice but to use them

I keep at 30k lb strap in the back with looped ends. The hooks scare me because if a strap breaks that could turn into a nasty projectile.
