I've cold started gassers in -40 before, sometimes the electronics do funny stuff but the motor starts fine. Takes about 30 minutes idle to get all the juices flowing warm. IMO block heaters on gassers are pointless 99% of the time.

The old Cummins I've been around don't like it but will start around 10 without any trouble. They like it a lot better plugged in.

Oh, update on my home audio situation. Got the receiver and everything hooked back up once I got it back from Pioneer and went to hunt down some new speakers to replace the front 2 that blew with the receiver. I ended up going with a pair of Polk 110B's. They sound pretty good. I'm using them with a Pioneer 5.1 140W(per channel) and what's left of my Boston Acoustics setup: center and side satellites and powered sub. They barely fit in between the cabinet and ceiling. Maybe a millimeter of clearance.

Did donuts in a work van just now. Got a mean express 3500 with a 4.8 haha

Those extended express vans with the 4.8's are dogs haha

Its just a regular van chassis but for a van loaded with over a ton of crap in the back, its still fairly quick. Maybe its cause I do dog it haha

My battery hates it's life in this cold.. Sure would be nice to have a garage for it.

Agreed. But I will give credit to it, truck turns over like its gonna die but fires right up. But the coldest its been here is 10 so shouldn't have a problem!

I was thinking of hooking up a second battery when I replace this one. I jump most of all the diesels at work so that would help. Those damn 7.3 powerstrokes...

What is the best battery for my truck? Keep in mind I have an amp and subs that I power. Just curious.

Either dual batteries or an optima red top. I think that is the best one they make but not sure

With having a sub Sarah go with a red/yellow combo or single yellow

Optima quality is crap now. Just get a good Interstate or Die Hard.

Red has the best cranking amps, and they say yellow is for audio draining systems. You choose. I'm just going to run two of the duralast batteries. Work awesome for me and have awesome cranking amps for the price
