Had mine replaced under warranty and saw the actual bill. It was over $4000 and no it doesnt fix the issue.

Mine has been good so far since the job, 6 thousand miles and two oil changes later. I use conventional Valvoline 5W-30 and a PF-48 filter.

Has GM figured out what the real problem is?

I don't know I got rid of it 2 weeks after I got it back and got a 2011 with the 6.2. Most people think it has to do with afm system.
