Allison Transmission Slipping

Took the truck today to a Place called "Werner Transmissions" They have a very good reputation in the area for their work. First thing I asked the owner (he is the one who does all the work) if he has ever worked on an Allison Trans..he said yes....(cause if he said no I was gonna turn right around and walk out)...so I stated what the truck was doing..he said he didnt have time to look at it today but asked if we could take it for a drive..so we did..and upon driving it within minutes of driving it he says "oohh yup yup...you got a problem here" we turn around and go back to the shop and he said what it feels like is the "Force motor" is acting up or stuck on it...(but of course he would have to get in there to see what is going on to be sure). He assured me that within all the years of working on the Allisons in these trucks that he has not had a single one that came in and had a MAJOR problem...he said most the time its just stupid stuff such as what he thinks is wrong with mine or solenoid of some kind.

He told me he couldn't get me in till the 2nd or 3rd week in March due to he is swamped with building race Transmissions for this years up coming racing season.

I also asked about driving it...he said "It prob wouldnt hurt to drive it, but I wouldn't drive it anymore then you absolutely have to"

So its gonna sit till I have to take it back down there again to be fixed.

I will keep you updated

Alright...will do...what he said it does is it constantly adjusts the fluid pressure as you drive. Thats basically all he had said about it today..

I will agree with you though, I was nervous when I came home and typed "Allison Force Motor" into google...and nothing came up

So I have to ask,,, what ever happened was the problem ever resolved ?!?

My 03 Duramax ? Allison 1000 has an issue that began in 5th gear, I'd let off the accelerator, and when I resumed on it- it would just slip, if you wait 5 to 10 seconds it would come back again, no slip.. Anyone have any ideas on this ?
