I really want to get my windows tinted, my eyes are really sensitive to light but I was wondering what a good price would be. Its just my regular cab pickup, I found a guy that starts prices of $75 and the other pictures of ones he has done look good. But he is out of town for me and the one guy in my town doesn't even do it he has a guy come and use his shop. So he has to get 4 or 5 people befor he will come and he wants like $190 just to do my three windows! What should I look for I want it to last and look nice.

Had a shop do mine on an old single cab I had and it only cost $100, and that included all windows and a brow. Had a CC done a few years back and it was almost $150, and all they did was the 2 fronts and a brow. The difference was that the first shop had an in-house tint guy, the second shop had a tint shop come in and do it for him. Any time there is a middle-man, you will pay more. Had the same guys that did the CC do my current truck (I dealt directly with the installer) and they only charged $90.

My regular cab was tinted for $100. Did 20% brow and sides and 10 on the back since headlights hurt my eyes. Going rate around here is about 25 bucks a window

Just depends on how much it will cost in gas, and how much you value your time. If it were me, Ide find some other reason to drive that far, and have the windows tinted while Im in town. Otherwise, Ide look for another option. $190 is too much, and 100 miles is kinda far, but thats just my opinion.

I had all three back windows, both front windows, and the brow done for $160....but that was the cheapest around. They're cheaper because they have a machine that cuts the tint film specifically for each vechicle, which makes the job go much faster. They just put the make and model in the computer, choose which windows to tint, and the machine cuts the film exactly to size. It's pretty slick. I would think you could get a regular cab (assuming all 3 windows and a brow) done for $100-$125. If you have a sliding rear window, it will cost a little more.

My front 2 were done for 60 total.

I bought a 100 foot role for 30 dollars and after the third try I got it to ny liking lol. Next time I will be more than happy to oay someone. Even on a single cab for good quality I would pay up to 120.

it also depends on what kind of tint you want. I had the CPX film by suntek put on. That film is supposed to filter all UV rays out. Keeps the truck really cool. Anyway I paid 185$ for my front two and windshield. Normal film shouldnt be more than 60-80 bucks for the front two.

I had all 5 windows tinted on my crew cab( limo rear and 20% front sides) and it cost me $200 cash... The guy that did is lifetime warranty and uses good quality tint film. I have been having my work done by the same guy for around 10 years so I am not too worried. He 3m'd my bumper valence and the total bill with the tint was $320.

I just had my Crew Cab Ford done in November I do not remember the name of the tint but did research it prior to having it done it was well rated did 5% on the back 3 windows on 20% on the sides lines are flawless cost me $160

      when it's greyed out that is it's way of telling you that it's downloading the patch in the background. Eventually it will be fully downloaded and then it will prompt you at ignition shut down to run the update. I highly recommend doing the update once you get home and can run it a few times. I've had several issues with updates not going the first time around and I had to retry the update multiple times in my driveway before it was successful.   Some updates are huge and take awhile to download. You can help it by connecting to your home WiFi and keep the truck on service mode for the ignition and keep it alive for awhile on a battery charger too. There are specs it needs to be in for updating such as a full enough battery charge, no running ignition, etc.

      I am not techy at all but wondered if you have the truck running but sitting still in park as some functions gray out as soon as the truck is moving. I believe in the settings for updates you can choose for it NOT to update and I wonder by chance if maybe that was chosen before and now it won't allow you to chose to press update, I think that is back in the settings menu where it has all the items one wants on or off etc. Also I assume you have a wifi connection and checked that it has some signal strength, not that it would have anything to do with the grayed out updates choice in that case. What I am thinking out loud of here may be be of no value but thought I would suggest it, sometimes it can be the simplest thing that resolves an issue.

      The so called rare failure that some certainly liked to tout ( die hard Ford fan boys ) as per the lifter failing and wiping out the cam. Back when it started happening the blame was being pointed to the lifters and honestly I never did hear anything myself conclusively one way or the other on that. Ford themselves in I believe 2024 had a technical bulletin I will call it that came out and for some engine platforms they were reprograming the engines idle speed but also they had a software update for the oil pump which then some time later was said what that software update did as to be increasing the oil pressure at idle. It is a good question if that issue was completely solved as one Ford specialist mechanic youtuber said he saw failures after that time period. Like anything there would be the variables, what oil is being used and the OCI and how much idle time gets put on an engine. I've seen some comments to claim that the L8T isn't so happy with high idle time either but I also know that companies that require their vehicle to idle a lot on the job don't tend to get the oil changed often enough for all those hours of idle time and go off of the odometer.

      My 2026 Silv. 1500 WT (reg cab/short bed/4wd) has the 40/20/40 with storage in lower middle seat as well as the fold-down center bolster/armrest.   With the dual glove boxes this is about as much storage as possible in a std cab IMHO. Bill

      I have a 2026 base 1500 "WT" regular cab with basic Chevy "Infotainment 3" 7-inch screen/radio. How many speakers do I have If I want to upgrade? Is the audio amp separate from the radio/display unit]? [I listen to classical and it gets a bit raspy at slightly higher volumes. Don't need a sub etc.] Do I have two or 1 speakers in the doors? etc. Thanks Bill  San Jose
