Using GM "home remote" to control porch lighting

How would I go about using the gm factory Garage door/universal home remote buttons to turn on my front porch lights?

there is a module you have to buy and install in your porch lights to control them with your trucks Home link buttons , it depends on the type of Home link you have . One is the original "Homelink" and the other is "Lear" brand

Will control lots of stuff. I use a similar setup to control porch lights and a spot light at the remotest parking spot (no polelight).

Lear is the z-wave technology I believe which is what my truck had. The lights of my house are controlled by X-10 compatible devices (there are other brand-names are compatible, homelink is one). Read this thread, should get you what you want if you are up for it:
