crazydog Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 took my truck to the selling dealership today for an oil change. while there, asked them to double check the other dealerships work with the whole axle seal replacement fiasco---when they left a bolt out or something . . ..so this dealership pulls the truck's history and now that I am looking at their receipt, i see that the r front shock absorber was replaced????? i was never told about this. i do not have a print out/invoice for that. How do I find out if it was actually done or someone punched in the wrong code? do i call GM? or call the dealership---will the dealership remember/know? (plus, I don't really want to get them angry that I was checking up on their work. even though they DID screw up big time)
tanked_darren Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Go right to the head. GM customer service. Also, inform them of the troubles the other dealer caused you. Sent from my Nokia 5190 using Tapatalk 2
tanked_darren Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 That would really annoy me to have only one side replaced that's something I'd want done in pairs Sent from my Nokia 5190 using Tapatalk 2
dewfpo Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Go here and politely ask for a VIN check and Service Data report. (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=72). I had to do the same thing. Warranty repairs were done to my truck, the service manager told me one thing, mechanic told me another and no paperwork given (supposedly because it was all covered by the warranty). I got a Service data report on my VIN and it showed what the bum dealership charged GM for. I actually had to take mine to an independent shop to get it fixed right (after 3 attempts at the dealer). The dealership closed the following year. DEWFPO
txab Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Should have just asked the dealer for the printout while you were there. They're happy to give them to you.
crazydog Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Yep. I guess I'll just call the dealer that did it tomorrow, since the other website won't help me out unless I've been there 30 days and had 25 posts, haha! I wonder what they'll say . . .DID they replace it? and why? and why didn't they tell me? or are they pulling a scam? weird.
