CONCERNED ABOUT LOW OIL PRESSURE AT IDLE ON MY 08 SILVERADO HD WITH A 6.0L.WAS HOPING FOR SOME ADVICE.tHANKS

minimum hot ...from service manual...

 

 

22 psig at 1,000 engine RPM

 

30 psig at 2,000 engine RPM

 

33 psig at 3,000 engine RPM

Try putting on a different oil filter. A friend of mine had the same problem, when he change the oil and filter it went back to normal.

Just had the dealer replace my oil pump this week. The engine has 243k. I was getting 3psi at idle on startup in the mornings. Now I have 40 psi at idle and 60 when driving. I looked at the old pump and what was happening was the relive valve plunger was getting stuck open due to metal to metal wear. I had them replace the timing chain at the same time.
