I ordered an exhaust tip on ebay. 3.5" inlet and 4.5" outlet.. 12" long, stainless clamp on. When i went to clamp it on a couple weeks ago, i noticed the factory pipe has a bend in it and this tip would not slip over.

So what i ended up doing was cutting that bend part off which was about 6". /and the tip fits perfect now.

GM sells a chrome tip and its like $95! And its too short... so u can still see the pipe. I got this one for $32.

Heres some pics.

Heres the link to the auction. I submitted a best offer of $30, and then we settled on $32.75

Ryan,

I looked into the GM tip at first mainly because I could not find and 3.5"-4" diameter tips out there. But the cheapest I could find it for was around mid $95 range.. This was with searching on ebay / amazon / and all the gm parts websites .. Where did you get yours from?

When I found the one i got on ebay I wasnt to thrilled with it being it was a 4.5" output... Usually anything with almost a 5" output looks to ricer or diesel wanna be. But I gambled on it and bought it. As soon as i put it up to the truck, I loved it. Thats when I committed and chopped off that small bend section of the exhaust. I have mine about an 1-1/2" behind rear bumper.

The other thing I didnt like about the gm tip is how short it was. I dont like the look of the clamp being right out in the open .

Thanks for the link. I also have the GM tip which came on my truck when I bought it, but I feel the same way about it as you do. Hopefully I can get that tip, and do mine just like yours is. I don't mean to copy it, but it looks a lot better than mine does.
