Today while I was cruising past my losal GMC dealership I noticed a nice new 2014 sierra. So I swung around and pulled into their yard to scope it out.

In retrospect I realize I didn't pay mug attention to details about trim level. I did manage to notice it had the new 4.3 with a 6 speed transmission crew cab. I also noticed the sticker was over $42000.... WTF IS GM THINKING??? For 42k I don't care what trim level it was a v6 nfw... if it got 30 MPG maybe. I'm just in total disbelief...

They're following the lead of Ford and Ram where you can get a well-equipped V6. Car and Driver has a Ram with a V6 and a sticker of like $47,000. The V8 is a standalone option, one that like you I'd get too. I could care less about fuel economy but the feds have forced all automakers to do stupid stuff to meet CAFE numbers.

That's just crazy sticker price. I may never but another new vehicle again. I can't afford 2 mortgage payments..

GD environmentalists are just that MENTAL

I just saw a Silverado a few minutes ago. The salesman told me he would sell it to me for sticker price because there's no rebates. Sticker was $44,000

Rebates for 2014 Silverado/GMCs

are in the mail to GM card holders. I am up to $6500 in 2014 incentives before

stepping foot into a dealership and watch the price drop to invoice. ($3500

classic GM card not doubled at the moment, $2000 2014 Silverado/GMC private offer &

$1000 special supplier incentive.) See the 2014 rebate thread. Local 2014's are

at invoice as the lots have filled and the "got to have it first"

crown has got theirs last month. Just 10% off the list of a fairly loaded truck

gets over 10k off list price on a 2014.

This dealership is known for being terrible I would never buy anything from them anyhow. There's a Sierra at the GMC dealer that I'm going to stop and look at too. They are nice trucks, but I'm happy with mine.

Just looked at a stealth gray Sierra man it is sweet. I like the Sierra better than the Silverado. On a side note though the sheet metal quality on these trucks looks really good.

Too bad that Stealth "gray" is really Stealth Blue.

Terrible paint options from GM in 2014.

Yea I like how its Blue Granite on the Silverado, and Stealth Gray on the Sierra when its the same color.

Sheet metal appears to be thicker? Did you do the lean-against-butt-test?

I never said thicker. When I said good quality I meant that there isn't as much waviness in it compared to the GMT900. Probably due to different placement of bends in the metal compared to the 900's.

When you said good quality I was wishful thinking they strengthened the sheet metal. What were the wavyness problems in the GMT900?

There is a nice 6.2 '13 sierra near me that is very tempting givin the current incentives.

Oh ok. On the 900 Silverado's there are some wavy spots on the bedsides right above the wheel wells, and on the tailgate. Some people notice them some people don't. I never noticed it until I bought my current truck because it was a darker color. My last truck was white.

I can't see any issues on my '08 Sierra metal.

I can't see anything on them either, but they have different body lines too compared to the Silverado except for the tailgate.
