Step side bed on 2500HD

Has anyone swapped the 6.5 foot regular bed on a 2500HD for a stepside from a 1500?  If so, I'm interested in any problems/fabrication involved.

 

On the surface it seems easy enough but I don't want to go into a project like that blind.  Any help, pointers, etc would be appreciated.

I'd like to find a GMC quadra steer bed with the flares on it to put on my HD......It would look sweet with the lift and big tires!!!

I would bet the sport bed or quadra steer bed just bolts right on...they don't make to much special stuff cause it would cost too much.......

Heck we have a kid running around town that put a sportside bed off a 94 GMC on a old toyota .......why you got me but hey it's custom...

I was going to say go to N-Fab`s web site, but that is the same truck. So I will save my time for better things

That does look sweet.  I'd say go for it if the research tells you it's not too difficult.
