kyb upper shock bushing question???

guy's,

just installed a full set of kyb excel-g shocks on my 2001 silverado..

have a question on upper busings on the front shocks... the kyb bushings are solid rubber with no metal bushing like the oem bushings??? would have used the old bushings but they were pretty flat!! so went ahead and installed the solid rubber bushings...

will these work ok??? or start problems... do i need to get oem style insulators/bushings installed??? sure this problem has been covered before... look forward to your replies...

thanks

white 1500,

the shocks seem to be fine.. i just mainly use my truck for commuting to work... no off roading or heavy hauling..

wish i would have had more response to my original question..... apparently all after market shocks come with just the upper and lower solid rubber's and metal washers... no metal bushing inserts as the oem shocks have..

by the way i purchased the kyb's through amazon!!!

I have had a set of their HD shocks on for a while now, and I installed them just as you have using the solid rubber bushings and not the factory style with the metal insert. So far, no problems. I don't particularly see any problems either. As long as you cinched the bolt down good and tight there wont be any play in the bushing so not having the metal insert wont matter.

I use put those shocks through the paces pretty good with the roads around here, so take that for what its worth.
