Remote control door lock receiver

Remote control transmitter does not work and the tire monitoring system is down also.

Took to GM, said the remote control door lock receiver, located on pillar behind driver side rear door, not working, needs to be replaced. I have found it, can buy it and replace it myself. My questions are, once I do that. What exactly can I still do myself as far as

1. Getting remote controls working again

2. Getting tire pressure monitoring working again, turn the dang lite off

3. Is there anything else this little box controls I need to know about.

What will HAVE to be done thru a automotive repair place.

Thanks, David

I've done this switch out in my wife's Equinox.

1.) Unless it's different for the Truck (I don't think it is) the only thing you'll have to do once it's replaced is take it to the dealership to get it re-learned. Took the guy 10 min. tops and I was on my way.

2.) With the re-learn it should fix your TPMS system as well.

3.) That is the only two things that RCDLR (little box) controls.

Gents,

I have a related problem that is not exactly similar to any case I've heard...baffled.

  • 2 RKE Fobs quit working slowly, with 2 successful reprograms using standard procedures (i.e. hold lock button down, turn key twice, depress both buttons on fob...), then ultimately total failure.
  • these are same fobs ive always had
  • New batteries in Fobs - tests with test receiver at parts store indicate they are transmitting
  • My manual door locks work just fine on both sides of truck

Some time ago, I had several fuses blow which caused failure of Electronic Rear View Mirror, airbag light on. I checked fuse boxes...replaced fuses and all was well.

Have I missed a blown fuse for RCDLR? Can't find anything on fusebox diagrams

Do I need to ground RCDLR to test if it is receiving? If so, how?

This is driving me nuts.

Thanks
