adding skid plates to non-Z71/AT sierra?

Can I just order skid plates from the dealer or some GM parts site that go w/ the Z71 package for my regular 4x4 SLT? I was crawling around under there and that transfer case/oil pan is def exposed pretty good. Not to mention, w/ the rake on these trucks it is even more worrisome.

That being said, I didn't necessarily want to pay a premium for crap rancho shocks that STILL have the rake and some badges and skid plates, I do like the 20"s that come w/ it but I'd be more apt to buy some aftermarket 20"s that are dark grey or black.

Anyhow - if anyone knows the part #'s or where to order let me know!

You can get them from the dealer. I forget the part numbers, but I added the factory skid plates to my truck.

I've got the brand new GMC Z71 20s with Goodyear all terrains I removed from mine. I will probably just sell them local. Any idea what they are worth? Oh and I have the rear Ranchos as well.

Are your take offs SLE or SLT 20s.

for the OP, as said you can add the plates. The main reason for Z-71 now is the hill descent, if I am remembering correctly.

The SLT's are more of a honeycomb design. However, as far as the 20's go I like the ones you have way better

Ah, that's right, for some reason I was thinking that wheel was bigger.

Legitimate aftermarket skid plates might be the same price or even less but with better quality.

I'd be surprised if anyone is making skids for these trucks.

Do wast your time, the skid plates are a joke on the z71. All are plastic but one very small one buy the transfer case. The front skid is the biggest disappointment of them all, I'm sure it's the exact same one if you got the z71 or not, it's basically just a air diverter. If you grab the front skid on the side and pull down and let go it will bounce like a diving board. Buy buddy's 04 silverado non z71 even has a nice thick aluminum skid plate on it in the front.
