Looked at some 2014's

Went to 2 dealers to look over the 2014's, really like the extended cabs. Stance is nicer and 6'5" bed is more useful than my '08 crew. Interior is real (IMO) over my '08. One thing I did notice, all the trucks had the frame coating scraped off in the same location. Looking thru the rear wheel well the frame section over the rear axle is all but down to the bare metal?? Is this from securing to the transport truck? This kind of a big deal here in the Northeast, that area will be rusted up good by mid winter.

Picked-up my 2014 2500 Denali week before last. Last week at 477 miles it died. Been at the dealer for 4 days, hope to hear something today. Went dead, would not start, message center showed brake, stability, trailer brake error messages. Thanks goodness for OnStar!!

Not sure what this has to do with the OP question snoopyb!?!?.

08GMC1726, I will be looking at my 2014 rear axle when I go out at lunch and see if I can see what your talking about. Thanks for the heads up and I will post if I find anything.

I think its from where the frames are tied down when they are being transported by train. I work at Ft. Wayne assembly. I will try to go see if thats where its coming from.

Well, at lunch, I crawled all over the back end of my truck underneath to see for myself and I have no areas where undercoating or paint is rubbed off.

Just looked under mine, couldn't find any bare spots.

Oh no! I am deeply sorry to hear that your vehicle is at the service center at your dealership. I am interested in hearing about your concern. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Sincerely,
