What is this light for?

The small light in front of the homelink buttons. It does not seem to be bright enough to do anything but, I have not driven my truck much at night. What is it's purpose? Yes I read the owners manual and it's not listed as an interior light.

My experience has been that this light helps to illuminate the center deep well in the console.

Thanks for the replies. I have only driven my truck at night for about 15 minutes. I guess I did not notice it's output all that well. It does not seem that bright when putting my hand up to it.
