Getting ready to goto the races. I haven't towed the enclosed trailer yet but the 2014 with 5.3L and 3.42 gears tows this little trailer a little better than my 2008 5.3L with 3.73 gears. I got about 3 miles to the gallon more with the new truck towing. I'm anxious to see how it tows my 8 1/2' x 16' enclosed trailer, that will be the true test.post-124031-0-86503100-1380634450_thumb.jpg

Didn't the 08 have a 4L60E anyways? The 6L80E has a super lower first gear so its definitely made more for towing IMO

Yes my 08 had the 4 speed. I was a little hesitant about going from the 3.73 to 3.42 gears even though the 2014 has a 6 speed. First gear definitely goes up higher in RPM's in the 2014, but overall is a better combination for me.

 

Hopefully I can get the wiring harness to hook up my brake controller to tow the enclosed trailer soon!!

Nice truck. I also have the 6spd 3.42 5.3 with the max trailering package, but mine is a 2010. I have a 8.5 x 16 enclosed haulmark (18' if you include the vnose) which weighs just over 3500 pounds if I remember correctly. Curious to see how yours does. Mine tows it fine but when I load it up with the toys, about another 2200 pounds (so 5700 or so) I can really feel it back there. Not when braking but going up hills and when taking off. It's not bad but you know its there. I know some guys say they cant feel their trailer, but I want to know how you notice your trailer loaded and not loaded since our setup is very similar.

Thanks!! Glad I got the silver, its much harder to tell I don't clean my truck as often as I should!

The thing I like the most about it is the added room in the back. My 6 year old and 3 year old both say how much better it is to ride in their car seats with the extra leg room.

I had an 08 crew cab silverado. My wife has an 08 crew cab GMC and the kids like riding in the new truck so much more.

      I found an odor eliminator spray that neutralizes unwanted smells pretty well. Using it with the car's AC running helps to distribute it evenly around the cabin.

      WTI futures / speculation is just that.       He does, actually. In another unrelated video he mentions the president called him in the middle of the night to relay some information on a cause (religious based) that he's invested in. Glenn expressed concern that another leftist administration could wield too much power with some procedure the Pentagon was using, classifying certain religions a certain way. Being that he is LDS (Latter Day Saints), he gets hate all the time from ALL over the political spectrum, so he's invested in this. Trump called him back at 5AM to tell him he had made some changes to that classification.   So, yes, they are and have been in contact regularly since the start of the administration. Glenn, of course, always asks his permission before discussing anything on the air.   I already spent an hour or more just searching for these videos. I may have my numbers wrong - I'm not a numbers guy. It may have been a MILLION barrels, not 1.5. The point is, our President, by his actions, gives a crap about America, and US - this is completely OPPOSITE the actions of the prior administration who projected hatred for anyone who wasn't following the left's edicts in lock-step.   Remember, they called January 6th an "Insurrection", when there were ZERO weapons among the crowd, undercover FBI agents agitating the crowd, along with paid leftists acting as aggressors, egging the crowd on in an attempt to whip everyone into a frenzy. It's all been proven.  Pelosi refused Trumps request for more National Guard troops. This smells 100% like an inside job for those with critical thinking skills. Only a handful of guys in the crowd got wrapped up in that, thankfully, but EVERYONE was searched out based on cell phone data, and charges were brought against many. And 6 or so people were locked up and left in solitary confinement for YEARS with ZERO due process!! If you give the slightest crap about our Nation, REGARDLESS of your political leanings, this should frighten you to your core. This is what men suffered, bled, fought, and died against 250 years ago!   This has gone FAR BEYOND left vs. right. This is a  threat to America, and our way of life. This is PRECISELY why Trump, a BILLIONAIRE who could have chosen to take Melania and sit on some tropical island that he could afford to buy himself and RELAX, instead chose to run for office, get hate from literally every corner of the media, get ATTEMPTS on his LIFE constantly, and begin to repair some of the severe damage that's been done to this Great Nation.   I don't know why I bother wasting my precious time here. Everyone has their minds made up. They won't realize we all were correct until it's too late ... after they elect another tyrant that hates America to office (Obama), or another puppet whose administration is secretly running the show behind the scenes (Biden).
