got in the mail yesterday offer to get $50 to take test drive on Silverado. Just need to take test drive, get # from dealer and enter info online and receive prepaid Visa gift card. Don't have intention of buying right now but would you take test drive for $50 offer? Am a little hesistant because afraid I might do something stupid like trade in my truck. LOL

Is $50 worth them running a credit check (repeated ones over time can lower your score I've been told), take time out of your day and hear endless pitches from the sales guy? I'd love a chance to give one of the new trucks a spin myself but listening to that sales pitch and wasting the little time I have free at a dealer when I know it'd be essentially impossible for me to buy right now seems like a waste. To each their own though.

I have a good friend who makes excellent $ and trades seemingly every year or so.

Soon as he walks on a lot he's likely to buy.

Me I can go and look and not be influenced by sales people.

Went about 3 weeks ago to local GMC and Chevy dealers and though they fired up both trucks I was looking at I flat out refused test drives.

Was simply wanting to get a feel for the new interiors.

They blow my 2011 LML LT interior away.

Good luck if you go and remember don't allow them to pressure you or buy during that visit.

It's funny. I've probably purchased 8-10 vehicles (including two Silverados) and never felt once like I was pressured into doing anything. In fact when I bought my 2014 a couple of months ago I took it for a test drive, said I wanted a while to think on it, and they tossed me the keys and said "keep it over the weekend". It sold itself.

Maybe I have just been lucky, but the 2-3 dealerships I've dealt with over the years have been awesome. For you Philly guys shopping I'd recommend Armen Chevy in Ardmore (Lower Merion Township).

Same here. Last Monday I went to the local dealer to pickup a new Bow tie and some rear diff fluid for my car. Pulled up in the camaro few salesman went to the window to look (I assume at the car). I strolled through the showroom looked at a 50k silverado grabbed a brochure and walked out. No one said a word made my day :)

I'm curious here. Why did you need a new bowtie?

Mine started looking like crap. The new one is different (color) and doesn't appear it will have the same issue as the old one did

Ok. I thought maybe you hit a bird or something, and it cracked. I've had that happen.

Got that mailer a week or so ago. The wife and I stopped at the dealer the other day and the salesman was nice enough to enter the info and let us skate without going for a ride. I would've but I can't see taking one out when I'm not going to replace my 08 for quite some time yet.

I would like to take a Sierra for a ride, but there's really no point for me. I don't like the interior at all, and I would have to get the 5.3 since I can't afford a higher trim level for the 6.2. Since there's no benefit for me engine or transmission wise on top of the interior I don't like, buying wouldn't make any sense for me. Probably won't buy a new truck again until atleast the next generation.

Wonder if I can get the $50 even though I already bought one? :)

Nope they already got what they wanted from you!
