6.2 & Denali Estimated Arrival

I just received notification that my 6.2 is still at event code 1100 with no estimate of a target production week. I had high hopes but now it's almost depressing. I was wondering who else has a 6.2/Denali ordered and when they ordered, as well as what event code your at? I ordered mine on September 27th. Almost a month ago.

Hey man, I'm sorry to hear things are moving slow for you. I did order my 6.2 Denali on September 19th, got a TPW of Oct 14th, the following week. Monday, this week, the dealership texted me with the VIN # and said it should be here in "approximately" two more weeks. I'm trying to convince myself not to believe it until I see it! All in all, I guess mine has been moving pretty good. I have heard they are "rationing" the 6.2s, and only building a few at a time. I do not know that for a fact. However, that would help to explain the slow down on yours. Hang in there, it's bound to start moving soon. Good luck.

EChavez, I forgot to address one of your questions. My current event code is 3800. I am waiting for 4200 (Vehicle Shipped). I am anxiously awaiting for the dealer to get the invoice so I will know exactly what the truck is going to cost me.

Unfortunately mine must've been one of the rationed vehicles I suppose. A few days can really make a big difference right now doesn't it? Haha. It's good to hear they're on production, hopefully mine gets started soon or I'm going to have to go down to Mexico and do it myself. I'm just trying to keep my mind off of it until I get some sort of notification from the dealer. Thanks for heads up CorvetteOj.

I ordered my double cab on sept 19th, first morning. Still no build date. I am not happy. My dealer says around Xmas now. I might just wait for the announcement of the new ford 150. If it really loses 700 lbs I might leave gm for the first time in 30 years. I held off getting a new truck this summer because gm indicated 6.2 would be here by fall. December is more than a little late as hunting season will be all but over. Add in the 1500 increase in price after I ordered, because they couldn't deliver the truck I wanted in early fall, tends to make me pissed.

I ordered mine a Sierra all terrain on sept 21 was given a build week of oct 14. And havn't heard anything this week to confirm the build. But I expect it to be almost a month to see as I'm in Canada.

It seems like the build dates are scattered. I wonder if it has anything to do with the truck being a double or crew cab. Regardless GM should've been ready to receive and fulfill plenty of orders.

@fish5225 I understand your pain, I'm anxious to get a production date but still nothing. I hope you get a build date soon. You ordered your truck the same day as CorvetteOJ and he should get his truck soon if everything goes well.

Update on my personal situation! I received my invoice today for my Denali 6.2. It actually has not shipped yet, although it is "Bayed" (event code 4B00). The best answer I can get for that particular event code is that it is waiting to be processed for shipment. I originally ordered it on September 19th, so that makes it exactly 5 weeks to get the invoice and have it ready for shipping. I've heard better stories, but I have also heard worse. The dealer says since mine was one of the first 6.2 out of the plant, it was probably getting some serious QC review. I don't know if that is good or bad, either way, I guess I've made my bed, now I'll just have to lie in it until the truck actually shows up.

Crew cabs are built in Mexico. Double and regular cabs in US.

That's great news OJ, your truck will be a beauty I can already see it!

I just received an update on my order. It's now a even code 2500. So that means at least some progress is being made. Still no target production date though, so I'm hoping for one next week.

Your dealer is bs'ing you, he has no way of knowing that.

There are various reasons a vehicle has not been picked and scheduled for production. Constraints on some of the options, dealer DOES NOT have an allocation to order the vehicle, the dealer ordered it as a stock order instead of a sold order. Note - When a dealer does not get a down payment then the are not supposed to order it as a sold vehicle.

Mine is on the train. Should be around Houston tonight. I'll check with the GM chat line tomorrow afternoon to see how close it is getting to Alabama.

How are you guys getting event codes?

You can private message Jennifer with an order number and she'll give you an order update with an event code.

Edit* By the way, here are a list of event codes. I got them off a Corvette Stingray forum but they should apply to GM Trucks as well.

1100, Preliminary order accepted

2000, Order accepted by GM

2500, Order preferenced

3000, Order accepted by production control

3100, Order available to sequence

3300, Order scheduled for production

3400, Order broadcast

3800, Order produced

4000, Available to ship

4150, Original invoice to the dealer

4200, Shipped by the plant

4800, Bayed with the carrier

5000, Delivered to the dealer
