LEAD Ban, be glad you don't live in CA

I just read that our wonderful Governor just signed a bill outlawing the use of all lead ammunition for hunting in California. There's so many other problems (of a higher priority) in our state, but these incompetent leaders had to stick their nose in this. It's already almost impossible to find ammo and the cost almost makes it too expensive to fool with, but now we have to find steel and the price will be almost double... I've about had it with living in this state...

What the hell is an AR doing on the side of a motorcycle? More importantly why was one chambered on a motorcycle?

I hope.... really hope, that Cali doesn't use this new issue as a way to further limit the rights of gun owners.

And the lead ban is garbage.. Just another way to make shooting too expensive for the average Joe.

That's exactly what they are trying to do, they cant ban firearms outright just yet. So they are making it to frivolous and expensive as much as they can. They need another Rodney King esque level riot, so i can laugh at all those soccer moms and bleeding hearts getting wrecked by criminals who THIS JUST IN don't follow the laws.

Yeah, that means I have to buy fairly expensive ammo when I got hog hunting again. Sucks.

The creative ammunition folks will find a workaround. There are a number of metals that would be a realistic replacement for lead. Just throw a jacket around it and you are in business. Bismuth is a very suitable substitute in FMJ or even cast style bullets. I am sure some enterprising company will come up with another metal that has a high density and will be soft enough to use for expanding bullets. But that may not be necessary since totally brass bullets have been around for some time and perform very well. The Barnes X comes to mind.

But, as has been stated, the cost factor is going to be an issue.
