I can do more w/ some revs or in cab if needed

I for one would like to hear the engine revved up. Idle sound sounds good. Is that the Flowmaster system with the super 50 muffler?

Yes super 50, I'm not as familiar w/ flowmaster but my guess is you go w/ one of their more aggressive mufflers you get the drone in v4.

Coming from much more aggressive exhausts in past vehicles this is a welcome change, it always has a nice growl, but no drone or constant low thrum in the cabin.

When idling or light on gas, very calm. Get on throttle and nice deep rumble. The sound in the cab is not obnoxious and would be perfect if there was no droan. I may have it tuned to remove the afm.

I told you it would drone w/ the magnaflow!! Honestly tho it was a crapshoot w/ the flowmaster I bought as I had no experience w/ their exhaust, I just happened to have magnaflow on my AFM V8 equipped Chevy silverado and G8.

Word to the wise- if you do turn off AFM switch to synthetic motor oil and make sure it gets the full 8.8 quarts or whatever it needs every fill up.

I think this will lengthen the life of the weaker lifters/valves used in the AFM hardware.

I put the 22" magnaflow, single in, dual outlet, with straight pipes coming out the back. Got rid of the valve and the resonator and I have absolutely no drone at any speed. I have had custom exhaust on most of my vehicles in the past 20 years, and I have had some drone issues, the worst being a GHL cat back system on my H3 Hummer in '06. Now, that was drone! I sent it back and replaced it with a Corsa and no drone. I say that to say I do recognize drone when it exists. You guys running the magnaflow, is your system set up similar to mine. If so, I'm wondering what the difference is. If you still have the valve, the resonator, or still running only one pipe, that might be the difference. I really can't explain it, but I can say mine is better than factory in all aspects, and even looks better underneath. On top of that, you don't see the ugly resonator behind the right rear wheel. Good luck with your systems.

Catback system from magnaflow. Flapper is removed. Droan only when in v4. Sounds like not enough pressure going through and a popping sound. I do not regret it at all. I went with the magnaflow because I was scared the flowmaster would be too loud. The magnaflow has the perfect rumble but when in v4 I'm not a fan. Makes me want to stay on the gas to avoid v4. Is this a win win situation? Lol. Not according to my wife. Build quality is amazing and the truck sure sounds better!!! It was as quiet as a luxury car and now the exhaust matches the look.

Hmmm, I wonder if something like Dynomax's VT series muffler would help since it has an internal butterfly valve.

Nothing really "helps" besides adding J-pipes to the mufflers or a really tame exhaust like the Flowmaster I put on - @ Primomarcelino, this particular flowmaster system is one of the tamest I have ever heard from them, I'm sure the magnaflow is a little louder/deeper actually and that is why you're getting the drone.

You can add J-pipes to the magnaflow muffler and it will eliminate the drone.

J-pipes? Most J-pipes I know of are for transverse mounted V6/8 engines (like Honda J-series). Only other thing I can think of would be resonance pipes similar to what HKS did with the 350Z Hi-Power exhausts. Otherwise I have no idea what you mean by a J-pipe.

Aggg, I was trying to remember what the hell the actual name was call. I just remembered! Helmholtz resonator! That's what I was talking about!

I installed the Flowmaster system last nite. It's the Force II with the 50 series muffler 1-in 2-out. I ran the tailpipes straight back under the bumper. Easy install took maybe 1 hour. Very happy with the sound. It is a touch louder than the muffler delete

Pluses- nice deep sound, not too loud. No V4 drone so far. No more flapper noise!!!!

Minuses- system is heavy. Seems to weigh much more than the stock system. Clamps that come with the kit suck and are hard to torque down enough to prevent slipping
