Nice. I've been wanting to post a video as well but no luck with my gopro. Talked to best muffler shop in the city here and he explained that the magnaflow system was too large and had too much flow which exaggerated the droan. Gonna get the range unit if they ever respond to my questions.

Just had the magnaflow installed today

Cat back system with dual outs behind the wheels. Sounds great. Not to loud or obnoxious.

not to sound completely uninformed, but I am new to modifying exhaust, I am about to get the 2014 Sierra SLT Crew Cab. I was looking at the Magnaflow because i heard it on a truck at a local dealership but after reading this, I am starting to question the system. if someone could explain what drone is that would be great! also any suggestions on exhaust systems that would be cool! i dont want anything too loud but i want a nice rumble.

I am also curious about the drone in V4 mode?

The magnaflow cat back is broken in now. I have 6500 km on the system since October. Droan is the sound when your motor is in V4 mode. I describe the sound as small backfires within the exhaust pipes. The droan has substantially reduced now broken in. The sound at start up and under throttle is awesome. I wish there was zero droan but have adapted my driving to keep me out of v4. My mileage has improved the more my motor is not switching between v4 and V8. The droan is noticeable when you are in v4 under part throttle and the throttle is not engaged enough to demand V8. That's when it sounds like crap. Would I do it again? Maybe. I got it thrown in by the dealer. If paying out of my pocket I would get custom system like corvette oj. Cheaper and no droan. I've always had custom exhaust and I thought I needed mandrel bent pipes and all I got was droan. Lol. Now that it's broken in, I'm not upset with my decision.

I'll take video with phone, sorry if it's low quality.

has anyone on here tried a corsa exhaust on the 2014 trucks? I hear that they are known for not having any drone and I know that they were the exhaust system of choice for the SCA Reaper build. I do alot of highway and so I dont want much noise on the Highway, which the corsa offers while still keeping a moderate idle and slightly more aggressive acceleration sound. I just need to make sure there is no drone, especially on the highway since that is where i do almost all of my driving.

So basically what I need to know is,

Does anyone have a corsa on their 2014?

if yes, then how is it? meaning any drone at highway speeds or really just in general?

if possible could someone post a video of their corsa exhaust?

I can give you my experience with exhaust system drone. In 'o6, I put a GHL cat back exhaust system on a new Hummer H3. The drone (loud high pitch roar) was so loud, it literally hurt your ears and gave you an instant headache. It put my wife in tears, I had to turn around and go home. I took it off and sent it back and ordered a Corsa system and installed it. It sounded fantastic, absolutely no droan.

Once again, I can also tell you I have the 22" Magnaflow on my Denali. It is a single in, dual outlet with two custom bent 3 1/2" pipes coming out the under the bumper. I have 22" of 4" chrome welded on the ends. It looks great, sounds great, mile rumble at idle, and wild at WOT! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DROAN!!! I cut my entire system off behind the last cat and threw it all away, including the flapper valve and the big resonator located behind the right rear wheel. It is absolutely perfect. If you mod your system identical to mine, I can GUARANTEE you will like it. My total cost for the entire setup installed, out the door was $450. If I were doing it again, I might go with the 18" instead of the 22". My exhaust guy told me the 18" would be louder, but I was afraid it might be too loud. However, there are a few guys on here who have the 18" and they don't seem to be complaining about it being too loud. That is the only thing I might do different, and I'm not real sure I would do that. Send me a PM if you have any other questions.

I put on a magnaflow catback. Not very loud at idle. Sounds good when you first crank it and sounds really good at when you give it gas. I enjoy it very much. Single in dual out with 4" slant cut tips. People always say how they like the sound of my truck. First time having magnaflow. Always had flow master and I'm staying with magnaflow for life. Lol.

Anybody have the single side exit magnaflow catback installed?

Got the magnaflow catback. Had to go with the deeper rumble in the magnaflow. Not too loud, not too quiet. Just perfect. No drone whatsoever. Extremely pleased with purchase. Also added an AFE power air intake and it really lets the horses loose in that engine. Would do the same thing again in a heartbeat.

I like the fact that you got no drone, do you know what size muffler is on that system? What engine do you have and the statement "it really lets the horses loose in that engine" is this measured with your butt dyno or ear dyno.

I wish we had more people that were dyno whores like me so that we could get some actual numbers to show the gains.

I'm wondering the same thing.....the single side exit system has a small resonator in it and I'm sure that this system will have no droan. Just waiting on videos from guys who installed this.

Not sure on what size it is. Hurt my back at work today. Having 2 herniated disks in ur lower Lombard isn't much fun. If it gets to feeling good enough I'll go out and see if I can check what size it is. Dealer installed it before I picked up the truck and didn't tell me what size. I'll also post a video when I can.

Will try to do it this weekend if the weather is good enough

All I know for sure about the system is that it's a magnaflow with a single in dual out, with the tips under the tailgate. Sound changes slightly when in V4 but doesn't get louder or quieter. Just changes to a different rumble. Hard to explain exactly.

Sounding better and better the more miles I put on it. 500 miles in at this point.

Oh and to answer which "dyno" I used. I used the 'how fast can this thing get going' dyno haha. Picks up much better than my old Yukon Denali that had a 6.0L V8. My Sierra has the 5.3L and is estimated at between 370-390 horses (provided it gained both the minimum-max estimated HP gain from both the exhaust and air intake.

I've got over 2K on my 18" magnaflow custom set-up. Like Mike1220, you can hear the v4 activate, but it's not the drone like I had from the FM super 40 on my 2000 silverado, entire cab would vibrate and hurt your ears. It's audible, but tolerable. Love the sound other than the v4, tune coming soon and will disable the DoD!
