Question

I have a 2003 Hummer H2. The craziest thing.... First of all, the knobs on the

climate control unit went berzerk. I ordered a new unit and the temp knobs work great. However the problem still lingers. My drivers side A/C will NOT turn off... I have both knobs on 90 and the passenger side blows nice and toasty but my drivers side is freezing me and it will only blow a/c ! (not vent air) A/C air. I have noticed alot of heat being stuck on but not a/c ...........

Sometimes the system can be reset to cure glitches with the actuators. If that doesn't work, I would start by checking the operation of your driver's temperature blend door actuator.

THANKS...... I was also told to check the temperature sensor located in the headliner?????????

I don't know where it is on a H2 but others have a quarter-size plastic bit above the drivers head that has a bunch of holes in it. To test it just run climate control and hold a dollar against it and see if the little fan inside sucks it in.

That sensor, as has been said, is a small plastic piece in the headliner above the driver's head. It lets the climate control module know the temperature inside the vehicle.

That sensor, however, is not used in the adjustment of the blend doors unless the climate control has been placed in automatic mode. Make sure auto mode is not engaged and that both the driver and passenger side are in manual, full heat mode.
