I love my magnaflow setup. I have 14" now, but had 18" before. I think the 18 is what your looking for. Here's two videos I made for comparison.

Thank you for posting the videos..I have watched them several times (with headphones). I'm still on the fence between the two, so if you wouldn't mind clarifying something for me.. Is the 14" considerably louder that the 18" inside the cabin? I have 35 days left in Afghanistan so needless to say I have plenty of time to think about which one. I also just ordered a Diablo tuner to disable the AFM so the V-4 mode isn't really going to be an issue. Thanks again, and I appreciate any info you that you could provide.

If you are going to disable the AFM then you can run any exhaust you want and it should sound great. The smaller the muffler the louder it is going to be. I plan on turning off AFM when my 5 year warranty is up and putting on my old standby, flowmasters! I keep my trucks for 10 plus years so that is why I am waiting out the warranty.

So went yesterday to am exhaust shop and they wanted $200 for the install of my catback.... No thanks... Its in the high teens for temperature here so i didnt feel like laying out in the cold.

Bought a 12pk and did it myself....

Hardest part is getting the stock system out but lifting the truck on the passenger side a bit and dropping the spare go it out.

Volant was a piece of cake to install.... Hardest thing about the install was the head on the hangers is larger then the stock so you gotta lube er up a little before you put it in haha ;)

Took me about an hour and a half with the beer run and all.

Sounds very tame and not as loud as i was expecting. Only drove it for like 5min this morning because i was slightly inebriated lastnight.

Going to brake it in real good when i go home we are talkin about 1800miles straight pulling a trailer

Headers are really going to make it roar i cant wait!!!!!

Put the truck in 1st and nailed it from 30ish and it felt to want to brake loose and thats because im rollin 33s and 3.08s

Thanks for the input. I do understand the shorter the muffler the louder it will be. I was looking at the MRBP system, but after hearing some videos it sounds raspy.. and I really wasn't digging that. I have narrowed down the search to a magna flow, but like I stated before still unsure between the 14" or 18". My biggest concern is inside the cab. They both sounded tame on the videos that is why I asked is the difference noticeable?

watched the video again.. I think I'm going to go with the 14".

Answering your earlier question, the 14" is really no louder in the cab than the 18". Only outside will you notice a difference in sound and tone. That's the main reason I changed to the 14". 18" wasn't loud enough for me so 14" fixed that but didn't affect cab noise at all so I'm very happy. You will not be disappointed.

Yeah mine took a week or two longer to get also.

Just got back from Florida today. Exhaust was here so I installed it. Sounds good. Feels like it drives diff. Like maybe less throttle response? Wondering if it's in my head or did you think it drove different also?

The clamps that came with it are junk. Wouldn't tighten down enough. Snapped a nut off one of them. Had to goto the auto parts store and buy 2 new clamps which went on and clamped so easy.

Also. The spot where the exhaust clamps using the stock clamp. This spot makes me a little skeptical. The Gibson pipe hardly is even on the stock pipe. Like maybe 1/8" and the clamp goes over this. Was yours like this? Seems like it shoulda been wider so it went over this more?

Thats odd, mine feels more responsive. Did you unhook your battery when you installed the exhaust? I went to napa and got the heavy duty exhaust clamps when installing my exhaust.

I installed it, then unplugged negative and waited a few minutes. Then hooked battery back up.

Did you get a differnt clamp for the spot where the stock clamp is used?

I just replaced the clamps on each side of the muffler. You might need to unhook your battery longer for the truck to reset. Mine was unhooked for a hour and half while putting the exhaust on. Might be 10 minutes to reset or longer.
