@brentadams - your pictures in post #2 are not showing up for me.

I've lost my previous phone. The phone was wiped and the pics got erased, so now there is no association for the links to display. I doubt I can bring them back but I'll see what I can do.

Where can I get that black grill? I am willing to buy one outright or swap.

Love it when a plan comes together! Now all that's left is to box up the old one and sell it!! Looks much better man.

Here is my before and after

To make the grille removal easier you can access the 4 bottom bolts from under the truck..once they're out pull your top bumper piece corners out like the OP stated and the grille and top bumper piece come off together

Tried taking my Sierra grille off today and was having some difficulty with 1) trying to locate the 2 bolts located "under the headlight" (access from underneath the truck) and 2) removing the bumper pad - which way do I pull or methods for easy removal?

Thanks in advance... This writeup is great but different for the Sierras

1 HR START TO FINISH FOR ME.

Hey anthony2558,

I joined this forum specifically because I wanted to ask you about your grill. I've purchased a T-Rex grill for my 2014 Silverado LT Rally edition. PN 6311211.

My truck with the Rally package comes with black inside grill honeycomb already.

Upon trying to install the T-Rex I discovered that my stock grill does not have the removable honeycomb portions. The black portion above and below the bowtie are all one piece and the honeycomb cannot be removed.

I spent the better part of $1500.00 on this grill so now I need to get a grill to install the T-Rex inserts into.

Was your grill you bought an exact fit for the OEM slot?

I'm hoping I can buy the grill you bought and throw the T-Rex inserts into that.

What are your thoughts?

And sorry to resurrect a dead thread everyone.

Thanks

What's up man. It's good you found this thread instad of starting a new one. [emoji106] It's been a while since I did this install. From the pics, and what I can remember the honeycomb was removable. I remember people swapping out the inserts, and websites were selling custom inserts also.

Maybe someone else can chime in to confirm this. It's been a while since I looked or even had the Silverado.

Thanks for responding so quick.

Were the inserts changeable only on the aftermarket one you installed? Or on the OEM grill too?

PS. Did you trade the truck for something else?
