Started to Look for new truck

Hi everyone

 

New poster

 

Current truck is a 2011 1500 Crew with a 4.8 engine

 

Very happy so far with this truck

 

It is a standard LT version without a lot of extras

 

We like the split front seat with cloth and the center storage area that has a locking compartment underneath.

 

It has a ARE cap on it that we want to switch over to a new truck.

 

We did get dealer installed rain/bug guards along with the D shaped step along both doors.

 

We do tow a medium sized camper and a 17 foot boat at different times to camp of go fishing

 

Looking to get a 2014 Silverado, 5.3 truck

 

Things we want in truck

 

LT package as a minimum

 

Trailer brake package

 

Crew cab

 

Split 40 /20/40 front cloth seats.

 

What other packages do people like?

 

All Star Edition

 

LT convenience package

 

Power/heated seats would be nice, live in Rochester NY

 

LED bed lights might be nice, but cap has a nice light in it already

I like the All Star Package on the LT's. It gives you a bunch of goodies, locking rear, 8" Mylink, backup camera, remote start. When I was looking those were a must and the All Star Package covered it all.

All star package and convenience package was a must for mine, wanted the bigger screen, remote start, power/heated seats and power pedals. Only thing I really miss is memory seats.

 

And make sure your truck cap will work on the new one, have seen mixed comments on various models working on the new style

What size bed are you getting the new crew cabs have a short bed and std bed

It isn't about what they like it is about what you like. Some like leather, others don't. Some like chrome, others don't. Look at each package and see what you do and don't like. Some come with 20's, do you like those? Do you like Chrome mirror caps and handles? It is your decision, asking someone on a forum across the country won't be to helpful unless you have some specific questions about adding multiple packages and what can be affected. Like if you want the bench seats but add the luxury pack does it make you get 20's and leather? Stuff like that would help you more. Decide exactly your must haves and wants and then ask if any package removes a must have ect...

Bench seat, cloth

 

Rear view camera

 

Dash instead of floor 4 wheel drive switch, WT vs LT

 

I like the All Star package

 

Will probably have rain guards and bug guards installed

 

I like a bed liner and tail gate liner instead of a spray in liner, haul a lot of firewood

 

Outside step rail is a nice add.

 

The LT plus package seems nice but how many times do you adjust the pedals?

 

The chrome package seems nice but aftermarket adds might be better

I see your in Rochester, with winters up there I would reccomend a getting a truck equipped with remote start. Very nice to have
