My First Dent! Anyone else?

Defensive driving has saved me from many other people hitting me. Half the people out there can barely drive let alone defensively. Last night in the rain I watched a light turn red and a woman lock up her brakes and just slide right up to the light. Nobody was anywhere near her..

I noticed an imperfection in my front fender on the back of the wheel arch, has an outward dent...someone wasn't paying attention on the line.

 

As far as dents, was grabbing something out of the bed from the side...I leaned over, didn't think I put much pressure on the bed side, but left 2 small dents. Can't believe how flimsy trucks have become.

Very disappointing that the sheet metal is that thin on a GM truck. Not as bad as the new Fords though. The door panels on the Ford trucks was what mainly turned me away from them. They are paper thin like tissue paper and it waves when you open and shut the door even the mirror shakes like it is going to fall off.

You can have guns, you just cant shoot at unauthorized guests. It would be murder. From what I understand, that is ok to do in the States. ...Defending your home. Discharging a weapon in the city here is very very bad.

 

For handguns, you need a restricted licence, approved by the govt. And you can only take it to and from the shooting range, which you have a membership at. You also have to notify the police every time you do transport it.

 

No automatic weapons. Limited rounds in a magazine. A semi auto assault rifle is good as you get here.. With a plug in the mag, limiting its capacity. Even those are restricted..

 

Only some states...Castle doctrine... Only some states have it. I know off the top of my head Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, I know there's more. Google can answer that

 

I guess I'm lucky to be living in Oklahoma. We have open carry here but I don't carry mine like that. I don't care about "advertising" the fact that I'm armed and I never leave the house without one on me. Makes me feel comfortable when I'm out with my wife and/or grand kids after dark. Lots of thugs and drug heads out there these days.

I don't care about "advertising" the fact that I'm armed and I never leave the house without one on me. Makes me feel comfortable when I'm out with my wife and/or grand kids after dark. My opinion....Who cares but this is it....It's too bad that people in the US need to feel like this. In order to feel comfortable one must carry a gun for protection - because everyone else does. I probably would as well if I lived in the US. Here in Canada I feel perfectly safe anywhere I care to go and never feel uncomfortable or afraid someone will harm me or my family and I live and work in one of Canada's largest cities. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but it's a very rare occasion that someone will go ballistic by pulling a out a gun and randomly shooting. JMO

My 1st dent came from some idiot kid in a cavalier at a gas bar, swung his door into mine and didn't care... he's lucky we can't carry in Canada lol
