Any of you gentlemen that did the swap with a black interior interested in selling your lower dash pieces that you had to remove?

I have a 2017 1500 Denali with black leather and I am switching from console to jump seat. Also looking for black leather jump seat with white stitching preferred.

Would you be interested in selling your center console

Sorry, I have a Denali and I'm pretty sure I'll need the console back in it if I ever want to sell it.

Many thanks to tbarn, savage and several others for great tips and pics to make this happen.

Just purchased the 5 main parts for my console install from gmpartsonline.net. Excellent customer service and she took pics of the console I was ordering to be sure it had white stitching. Prices are climbing fast and shipping was $160 or so. Expect to install next weekend.

Going to get a male to male (minis) USB and try to get one of the up front USBs to work for charging and music, and the other as tbarn and others have described for charging only. With a '15 Silverado the HMI USB in the upper glove box works for music and charging so rerouting it to the console USB should do the same, but I know many of you have tried without luck.

Question--do I have to disconnect the battery and has anyone had issues when disconnecting? Setting off airbags does not sound fun.

I am thinking of doing this swap as well. Since you just ordered the parts, can you tell me if the lid and rear plate came as part of the console. If you wouldn't mind posting the current part numbers and what trim colors they were for, and even pricing if not asking too much.

What is the airbag question about?

Am I correct in the assumption that there is only one mini USB port on the rear plug of the triple USB in the upper plate (Front) location?

Has anyone ever traced the where this USB plug goes to after the main harness on console standard models? Does it go into the radio? Maybe the HMI?

The parts for my truck were (specific to interior and trim; my door trim is reverse tartan so I matched that):

Top plate w/cup holders 23467112 (about $150)

Trim 23467516 and 22817347 (about $75 for both)

Bracket 22776807 (about $20)

Console 23466980 (about $340)

My total was about $575, plus shipping. The console does come with the lid and rear plate--I had the same questions. Nice part about gmpartsonline.net was the customer service lady went down the warehouse and took pictures of the console I was about to order. My truck has the jet black/dark ash interior with white stitching on the doors and I wanted to ensure the console had the white stitching. Then I got all the parts in 3 days. Great experience.

Disregard the airbag question--I did not disconnect the battery in my crew cab but carefully disconnected the harnesses under the passenger seat before moving it, with the ignition off.

I just received the mini usb in the mail so I'll try tomorrow to see if I can get all 5 usb's working. The front triple USB has the same connections as the usb inside the console lid--a mini usb AND a 6-wire special harness.

I'm going the opposite direction and I just got my black leather jump seat from one of the members on here and I have one quick question. Shouldn't I be able to use my existing console harness for the jump seat? The harness is removed from my jump seat, but I don't see why I can't just run my existing console harness up to the connections for the USB and 12v plugs on the new jump seat. If it's long enough, shouldn't it just be plug and play? I realize my Denali has a ton of chit on the existing harness that won't have a home, but I should be have a plug for whatever is on the jump seat.

Any of you that went from jump seat to console think your console wiring harness would be long enough to run under the carpet and up into the jump seat? The powered items in the storage portion of the jump seat and the storage portion of the console seem to be in the exact same place. However, I'll have to run the existing console harness under the carpet now instead of through the console.

One last thing, anyone that's done the console to jump seat find a place for the subwoofer?

Thanks for all the info. I ordered my parts today. One last thing, is the mini USB you ordered the 193xxxxx or the 208xxxx part number, I saw both of them posted. I assume you are running that from the front usb to the hmi.

Looks like I will take a usb plug, 12v plug and led light/sw from new harness and splice them into power on the existing harness. That way I can do everything at the work bench rather than trying to solder up under the dash. Seems like everything else should plug right in.

The only USB piece I ordered was a plan male to male mini USB on Amazon for $8. I needed to shave the ends for about 5 minutes and they plugged in behind the lower glove box and into the back of the front USB connection. The other connection into the front triple USB is a 6 wire harness, which matches the 6 wire harness and USB connection inside the console main compartment. I spliced the 6 wire harness from the old jump seat harness into the new wire bundle and plugged it in to the front console USBs along with the mini USB that I routed behind the lower glove box. Like everyone else, however, those front USBs still will only charge.

My interior console light also doesn't work. Not sure if the wire I spliced it to isn't hot or if I blew the fuse.

I am thinking it is the USB cable being used. I took apart my flip console and tried running a mini B cable from that port (in place of the regular harness plug) to the A port in the glove box and had car play working for a short time. Both locations supported car play before I changed anything. Some earlier tries may have had more to do with older HMI's and the programming. I ordered the cable #19303328 so I will see if that works. It looks like it should plug right in without any alteration. Mini B plugs actually have a fifth pin in them, but I don't know if it is ever used, but that could be a possibility as well. Normally they have two for power and two for data.

Did you splice the old harness plug onto the new harness?

edit: I have since cancelled the cable as I discovered that there are small differences in the port and plugs. SOme have a cut out on the bottom right and some the bottom left. Not sure what that is, but I noticed they are different on the HMI between the blue and green ports. Will have to wait for the console plate to arrive to see which I would need.

Yes I used the old main plug that plugs into the truck under the passenger seat and spliced all wires to that. But I also spliced a salvaged 6-wire USB harness into the new wire bundle (off the 6-wire that goes to the interior console USB set) and ran it to the front USBs.

I'm thinking about buying a regular male USB to plug in to the glove box (that used to play music) and running that to the mini USB plug in behind the front 3 USB set, thereby not messing with the HMI adapters.

When you spliced the new harness into old plug, are all the wires color coded the same? I suppose this gets you the led and for some the extra cig/12v plug.

I was looking at going the other route so I could have continuous power on the LED and front USB's. Seems like everything in the jump seat console is controlled by the ignition.

Tech boy did what you are talking about with the glove box USB and said it worked for him. That is what I was trying out, but for some reason I initially had music and car play working and then when I tried it a second time it didn't do anything. maybe I didn't have a good connection with the USB mini plug. I am still trying to understand how they can combine two or three USB ports together and get data on each one. I originally thought they had a custom USB plug using all the pins for data transfer and then the separate power plug, but I don't see how they get the third USB port or the SD card in there as well.

Yes the wires were all the same except for the white/brown wire, which is the LED light according to other posts. That's the one I ran to the cig lighter up front, but the red/black up front came in contact while I was working on it and may have blown the fuse. And the fuse diagram is ridiculous and I couldn't find a blown fuse anyway.
