hey everyone, been following this for quite some time now and wanting to pull the trigger , but before I do i have to ask , if theres anyone (preferably in Canada) going the other way (floor console to jump seat) - i know I've seen a few have. i have a 2015 double cab with the jet black leather and its mint - my issue is I'm 900-1200$ CAD to buy the pieces for the console! if i knew someone was looking for a jump seat like mine or or wanted to trade, it would certainly take away the sting of the cost.....

Was anyone ever able to confirm what the actual difference is between the Denali and non-Denali consoles?

I just bought a 2017 ltz and I want to do the swap but I can't find part numbers for 2017. Are they the same as 16 or was there a slight design change.

Anyone who did the center console swap have a console lid or the black piece pictured below?

hey so i was able to find a complete console for 250 CAD plus shipping from a wrecker next province over and its in great shape. - has anyone looked into or been successful in finding JUST the small hockey stick looking trim pieces on the sides ?? the only downfall to the console i picked up is that it was from an Allterrain so it has the carbon fibre looking pieces , whereas I'm looking to match mine to the grand lace woodgrain my truck has.

any advice on where to look , i easily removed the trim pieces but they dont appear to have a GM part number on them.

for that matter anyone with grand lace centre console trim want to swap for all terrain carbon fibre? ill pay the postage!!

any advice is greatly apreciated

Jump on eBay, you won't find just the hockey pieces but the part they attach to with the front ports with the color trim you want. Just snagged a used one for like $70 shipped.

Yeah I will likely end up going that route , but being in Canada , with exchange rate duty and shipping I'm looking at 175$ .... now if i can turn around and sell the A\T one i have to offset some of that cost i guess its not so bad...

I just did the reverse of this.

I have a full center console for sale if anyone wants one.

Black, includes both side pieces. And the silver tray piece.

Asking $500 shipped OBO.

Will a takeoff from a 2500 fit in a 1500 Silverado??

soloing as its the new body style 2500 (2015 and up) then yes I believe the consoles are the same.

well. i just finished my console swap and it turned out great! i have everything functioning as factory - with the exception of the dreaded 3 front USB ports , which i have charging only. I am going to upload some pictures and post a full explanation of how and what I did! The BEST advice I can give is research , plan and take your time and everything will come up aces!!

Hey everyone,

for those looking to still do this swap , its pretty straight forward and east if you dont mind messing with some wiring.

i did not use the large plug harness from the new floor console , i removed the old harness from my jump seat - it allows everything in the rear of the new console to function py simply plugging it in , with the exception of the led light inside the console.

for this i removed the wires and plugs from the floor console harness and taped it together with the jumpiest harness now in the floor console for a factory look and feel (even used the cloth tape from old harness which was a royal PITA to remove but again worth it)

for the front plugs my 110 and 1 existing 12 volt plug and play no problem , i ran power and ground for the LED light in the console to the front and tied it into the existing 12 fold port , i also jumped the second 12 volt pig tale off the existing 12 volt plug.

for the 3 USB ports i used the plug off the old floor console harness that plugged into the usb ports and removed all but 2 wires for power and ground , and tied this too into the existing 12 volt at the front ( yes I'm aware I'm drawing alot from one 15A fuse but the chances of running more than one piece at a time off this single circuit is slim to none) (i also kept a 2nd 12v plug pigtail with a foot of wiring and plan on running the 2nd 12v plug to its own fuse in the future (there is a spot in the fuse panel for this)

for the USB , as my truck is a 2015 and has the usb port in the glovebox i simply removed that plug , which provides you with a standard female USB , then took a standard USB male to Mini USB male plug , and plugged it in , taped the connection in the centre and had to shave a bit of the plastic off the end plug so it would fit in the strange factory usb plug on the console. this allows me to still have the factory usb plug at the HMI behind the dash and not have to splice a usb harness.

again i will say i took my time , did alot of research and planned my build

i probably have left out some pieces , but there is a ton of great write ups on this forum (thanks to everyone who has contributed , and the pioneers who were the firsts)

for the removal of the seat theres a video on youtube if your uncomfortable with that process , and for harvesting the harness out of the jump seat i watched a video showing how to re upholster the console which shows the complete disassembly of the console including removal of the wiring harness!

i uploaded a few shots of the before during and after in my gallery along with the harness i built for the new console.

Thanks again everyone for the info , insight and breakdown of your own builds. helped make mine possible!

onto the next one!

Were you able to get the 3 USBs up front fully functional using the standard USB to mini cable in combo with the existing cable to the HMI? I was thinking of doing the same thing since the USB is pretty useless to me in the glove box. This is the last piece I want to figure out before installing the console. I've already combined both harnesses to make one hybrid...
