Buy it or Build it?

I get s**t all the time from my inlaws about modding my trucks waste of money blah, blah, blah, what does my FIL drive? a conversion truck F250 it's an XL model that some aftermarket company two toned, put leather in, put 20's on. So he spent 10k more on less truck that was pre customized and they're going to talk about me doing my truck my way... I don't really care what they say I've got the money and it's my hobby so F them but it got me thinking about the conversion trucks like the ones above... They seem to sell a lot of them some look good some don't but I still like how I've made mine my own and have done it cheaper than buying it done would have been... I've picked every part and I've done all the work. It's mild, no big lift or anything but I've built the truck exactly how I wanted.

The fake Raptor is the dumbest thing I've ever seen- for $16,000 above the cost of a super crew unless you do it to a hose-out XL model you could have a Raptor and some money left for gas. As for the inlays, I'm single so it's easy for me to run my mouth but if you're providing a home for the wife and any kids, what the hell business is it of theirs if you spend some extra money on the truck?

I hear it every day from my own mother she likes to throw in that she can't afford to fix anything in hers so why should I mod mine? I get called stupid etc... She can go you know what herself...

It doesn't bother me all that much I just don't get the mentality that it's alright to overpay and buy one already done than DIY and enjoy it. I like BFG's that's what I got. I like my Pioneer Touchscreen, etc, It's exactly what I want other than the tonneau but that came with the truck so no point in dumping it because I like Lo Pros better lol

My truck is perfect for me. So I don't really care when people tell me it sucks cause they have a brand new lifted whatever. Their thing not mine.

What people do with their money is their own business. What is stupid is when other people try to make it their business what someone else does. I remember calling my brother to tell him I was buying a new car (my first), and instead of saying congrats, all he did was say how bad of an idea it was. I knew buying new isn't a great finicial move, but when you can AND want to, your opinion is the only one that matters.

Which I though was funny since I had made better financial decisions, some of which by learning what he had done wrong.

I've always heard how I change vehicles a lot but I was in the car business so I was gettin deals and still do from the dealership I worked at I've never lost on a truck as in purchase price to what I sold it for a year or two later (I spend money on mods and maintenance so what ) I drove them for a year or two until something better came along but all they saw was "another new truck" lol I'm used to it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cool. I'm 28 and will probably pay off my house a month after my Bday, Bought it new 9 years ago. Three car garage is filled now, what will I do then?

I want a ZL1 or Z06. Wife wants to get a house double the size.

I build my trucks to suit. My friends, family and wife give me crap all the time. Its my money. I can't leave any of my vehicles stock. I like to make look my good my way. I'm glad a lot of other people like my taste in vehicles.
