No they did not! It's back at the dealership now and the problem is the clicking noise comes and goes! They said there was a recall with the Yukons for a similar issue but only a service bulletin for the Sierra. I had the service bulletin recommended parts installed months ago and it did not work. The next step is a new steering column but I've read forums where that has not worked either. This may have everything to do with adding a leveling kit, which I did.

Jericho121, You can make you own dealer service appointments. Just sayin'. You will get more done by calling you service dept manager and talking to him/her. I know from experience. On my third 2014. First two were duds and one was a buyback. Word of advise, be nice. At least of first. Then if things don't work out work your way up the ladder. I had to go so far as to email Mary Barra. Then in less than 12 hours I got a call from her "assistant'. That got things moving.

Mine too. Going back to dealer tomor. WE'LL SEE!

Love my truck but starting to get impatient w niggling BS. Frame rusting, alignment, etc.

Dealer so far (Del Chevy) has been great so I hope it continues.
Same click and clunk in steering and it's audible as well as felt.

Low speeds only and not while stopped. Weird.
Power assist ??

That would be great! Thanks!

Did you get this fixed on your truck? I installed the 2.5" rough country kit on the front end of my truck and started having this problem about 3 weeks later. Doesn't happen all the time. Usually once the truck gets warmed up.

I have a 2014 Silverado with leveling kit. The dealership uses the same installer as I used and sad they would replace my steer rack under warranty. Unfortunately, it is on back order. Seems there are a lot of steering problems with these trucks.

If this is just a faint "clicking" or a "creaking" that sounds like it's just below the steering wheel, it could be the steering wheel position sensor. I had this creaking sound that was only evident when I was driving and at first only after driving on the highway after an hour or so and then became an annoyance every time I was driving. Sounded like a creaky rocking chair. Also had a noise coming from the brake pedal when I stepped on the brake at stops when I would push the pedal up and down.

Finally took it all to my dealer and at first they replaced the steering shaft, then a bearing, when they finally found the creaking was coming from the steering wheel position sensor. They replaced that and FINALLY had creak free driving!! After a year and half, I was finally

enjoying my truck again. The brake pedal noise was a known issue with the brake booster, so that was replaced as well.

Hope this helps.

I Have a 2014 High Country, 1500, 4x4, 6.2L with 4" Fabtech lift kit. EPS steering failed completely at 6,500 miles. Dealer replaced rack and steering gear. OK til 15k, then DIC started to come on showing "Service EPS" then clicking began. Second complete rack replacement by same dealer. Still clicking. GM refuses to deal with it anymore and says "lift kit makes it impossible to analyze the problem". So now I'm out of warranty with 2 yo truck with clicking steering and nobody seems to know anything.

Anyone out there manage to fix this mess, yet? I don't want another truck...I want mine fixed! How can GM not know how to repair this issue?

So I read all the posts in this thread. Not one mention of a common problem with at least the GMT900, which is the air bag spring. Makes me wonder if some of these column replacements used the old upper components.

For anyone that has had their steering column worked on, I offer this one piece of advice - Check the column boot on the firewall-- inside the engine compartment --and make sure it is seated properly. I had an extremely scary incident a few years back when I was making a u-turn in a parking lot. The wheel progressively, but rapidly, became hard to and finally impossible to turn. I could not duplicate it again, but took it straight to the dealer. The diagnosed the thing up and down, flushed lines, replaced crap, then the tech noticed the boot was crooked. Guess someone had done some work on it and not put the boot all the way back on. It eventually spun with the column turning and caught on a stud on the firewall. Could have gotten me in some serious trouble if it had happened on the road rather than a parking lot.

Anyway, for column clicking, ask your SA to research the air bag spring issue.

Mine was at the shop 6 different times for this clicking and was finally bought back by GM . Im not a tech in anyway but Im almost 100% certain the level kit is doing this.
