Brought home my new ride this evening!

I was finally able to go pick up my new GMC Sierra this evening. It came in last week but I had to wait for the dealer to get the bedliner sprayed in it. The aftermarket supplier they use is an Ameraguard dealer and I must say it looks pretty nice. Very similar in looks and texture to Line-X. On the way home, which is about a 60 mile trip, I was varying my speed on the interstate between 65 & 75 mph and I averaged 18.9 mpg. Not bad considering the wind was blowing pretty good too. I came from a 2013 F-150 with the 5.0 V8 and 3.73 gears and the best it would get was 16.0 on the highway.

 

The ride in this truck is incredibly smooth and quiet. I didn't feel any vibrations and everything worked as it should. The projector headlights and the radio reception also seem fine. I did turn off the HD radio to keep it from cutting in and out (I also had to do that on my F150 as it would drive you crazy cutting in and out all the time). I got home and put my Camlocker toolbox in along with the Weathertech floorliners. I have the jet black & dark ash interior and the gray floor liners look nice with this interior. I thought about getting the black ones but the gray helps in adding some light inside the vehicle at night with the overhead LEDs.

 

I still need to have my Escort Passport hardwired, the front windows tinted, the 1.5" leveling kit installed and I am probably going to go up one tire size to a 275/60r20 Toyo AT2 tire. I'll get some pics posted later this week. We are supposed to get anywhere from 3-6" of snow between tomorrow and Wednesday morning so the Auto 4WD may get put to the test soon.

Congrats on the new truck. I've had mine just shy of two weeks. Love it. I also had the two front windows tinted at 20% to match the rear. Other than the spray in liner and interior/exterior DuPont protection, that's all the mods I've done. The window tinting to match is a must. Sets the truck off for sure. Enjoy. Post some pics of that new ride.

Attached is a quick photo I took this morning after I got back from having the front windows tinted. Loving the truck so far. I used remote start this morning before I left since it was 30 outside and when I got in the truck the seats were slightly warm to the touch, not hot by any means but they were on. My butt was warm before I got out of the neighborhood. I'm curious to see how the Goodyear SRAs do in the snow/slush mix that we will be getting this afternoon and overnight.

Yes, congrats on your new truck. I've had mine almost three months, but I still remember, like it was yesterday, the day I drove it home for the first time. Have fun with it, it's easy!
