If I had it to do over again I would be buying a double cab std bed. That little bit more bed length would be very helpful at times. The short bed feels like it is about the size of a suitcase lol. Still love the truck though so think I will wait until 2018 when the all aluminum bodies come out and the trucks get around 35 mpg. Will be party time then.

They make the crew cab with the 6.5ft bed.

I agree they do make the Crew in standard bed but it does seem to make the truck just a little too long enough where tight parking lots cause me a bit of a problem. I drove one and to me it was just a bit longer than what I wanted. My dealer did not have any double cabs at all on the lot so I never checked them out. The extra room in the rear seat in the crew cab is great for dry storage so I am happy with my truck besides I have a enclosed trailer and open trailer for the big stuff anyway so no worries. I would urge new buyers to check out the double cab though if they need a bit longer bed. I have heard that the cost difference between a Crew and Double is around 4k!!! so if on a tight budget that might just help someone out. finally got to give the truck a bath today man was it dirty from all the road salt and crap.

I took delivery of mine today. Crew Cab LTZ Z71 with standard bed. Brownstone color. 18" wheels. Options were: Navigation, bucket seats heated/cooled, telescoping steering column, driver side assist handle, tie downs, led cargo box lighting, LTZ plus package, driver alert package, splash guards, 4" black steps, all-weather mats, console organizer. I have been driving a 2500 for some time. This new truck rides so nice and the fuel mileage is so much better! After driving a 2500 for some time, even with the standard bed, this truck seems small to me and very easy to handle and maneuver.

congrats on the new truck. It is quite an improvement in almost every category over any of the previous models IMO (I miss my rain sensing wipers and HOT heated seats when remote starting). I have the CC short but would get the CC std bed if I had a do over..............................

Thanks. Well, I am still learning about all the features and options, etc. Have most of them figured out but need to spend some time going through all the software options. I drove it home from the dealer last night and to work and back today. I have to say that I am very impressed so far. I had a 2500 before and the ride and gas mileage are incredibly good in comparison. I am very glad to have decided on the standard bed as I have been so used to driving a 2500 for the past few years - this new truck feels very small in comparison!

Hey guys I am having a hard time figuring out the size of my bed. No idea where to find it lol. I have a 2016 crew cab short box. Is it a 5'9"? I'm trying to sell my the bed liner my truck came with.

I currently own a cc std. bed. Previously I have owned shorter and longer pickups. In my opinion, this is the perfect length. It appears that Ferries, mall parking spaces etc. are designed for vehicles 20' and under. We just make it! I find backing in to a parking space is easier for entry and exit. No matter what the length of my truck, I avoid tight parking spaces because of the width. It never ceases to amaze me how inconsiderate some people can be towards your property. They open their doors until they come to rest on your paint or they back up out of the opposing stall until your bumper won't let them go any farther!
