Borla exhaust for 2014

I've always been a fan of the Borla sound, and I noticed right on Chevy's site is lists a Borla cat back system as an accessory. That's pretty tempting, especially if it came from Chevy and you paid the dealer to put it on. I would think that would put all worry about warranty issues to rest. has anyone taken the plunge on the Borla system? They allegedly guarantee no "drone" too...and I do like their sound. Do you think it would mess with back pressure and hurt the gas mileage or performance or would it really help out?

Hi MJFlores,

Glad to hear you’re interested in our exhausts! Our cat-back systems come with our Million Mile Warranty, and also won’t interfere or void your factory warranty. Since you keep your stock catalytic converters in place, you are 50 state emission legal. You’ll see increases of 7-10 horsepower/torque from our full cat-back systems. Our exhaust systems do marginally improve your MPG too. Our engineers work hard to give you the most in performance by designing and tuning each system specifically for each vehicle.

That’s great you’ve already had positive experiences with our sound. Can I help you find a specific part number for your vehicle or a video link? If so, what year and model is your Silverado/ Sierra? Which engine do you have? And lastly, what is your cab and bed configuration? I’m happy to help you select the best suited part number for your vehicle. Feel free to also give us a call at 805-986-8600 for any questions. Happy motoring!

When you purchase a Borla CAT back system for the 2014 Silverado, which exhaust parts is it designed to replace vs. which stay on the truck. Obviously the muffler goes, goes the flapper valve get removed as well (as you know we're all complaining about this flapper valve GM puts on the trucks now). Very interested in the Borla system....the LOUD one! LOL.

You may want to try just removing the muffler first you may like it, save some money. Its pretty much a matter of personal taste. Its not like years ago when the exhaust too small, and restricted the flow. Same with the air box in front you can put a drop in filter work on the pluming between the air box and intake to make air flow gains. Now headers and gears, tune if you dare, that's where the gains are.

The ones made by Borla for GM have the OEM GM flapper valve installed in them for AFM drone elimination, something other exhaust companies don't.

The Borla cat back should be a factory option on the 2014's at least on the V8s. Of coarse we know there are optional exhausts for the Corvette snd Camero with the 6.2 . I believe this is a lack of automotive insight by "today's" narrow-minded engineers. Don't come back at with me with all that no one wants duals etc. this cite sure shows a lot of interest in exhaust modifications. SMH!!!! Additionally the 2K tarriff for the 6.2 should give you more than only a .9 liter bigger engine. If this does in fact become an option on the 2015's us pioneers should get a deal on the Borla ststem, LOL.

So the Borla kit has the flap in it? What's the difference between the Borla kit on GMs site that is overpriced vs the actual Borla kit for our trucks everywhere else? Thanks
