Silverado Headlight Trim / Bezel Removal

I just ordered the black version off amazon- should make returns easier if I'm not happy. The Amazon listing has only 1 review, but it is favorable and the picture looks good.

I know this is an old post, just curious as to how the trim covers are holding up, and fit/finish of them, might consider buying a set

Couldn't be happier. There are a few small places where the chrome still shows, but you have to be less than 1ft away to even start to notice. Combined with the blacked out OEM grill, these have been my best aesthical mod to date. *** I would recommend adding more 3M branded tape to allow for better adhesion and remember to use the adhesion primer suppied.

i removed my headlights then you can see better of how the chrome trim is clipped on around the headlight.. unpop it from all the clips then ease it off the headlight as it is adhesive taped on also. i removed the chrome trim off my headlights to see how it would look but im going with aftermarket headlights now.attachicon.gifIMG_4819.jpg

Can you tell me if the black plastic spacer between the low and high beam can be removed without removing the light? how do they come off?

Do I have to take off the headlights to remove the bezel ?

Yes you will have to remove the headlight for removing the bezels. Best way to make sure you don't break one. Took mine off to paint them black

Can you tell me how the black separator strip come off.

To take off the black piece in the middle of the bezel, you have to remove the whole headlight bezel. It snaps directly to the headlight bezel.

How did you go about painting the bezels? Did you get them to color match the black very well?

Well I first tried to paint them using the Duplicolor shadow chrome kit. Did three coats of that and in my garage they looked spot on. Took them out in the light, put them against the truck and they had a purple tint. So went to local parts store and bought duplicolor GM black. Did another three coats, and fixed the purple tint issue, then did three coats of clear. I'd say paint match is pretty close if not spot on. I didn't use any adhesion promoter over the chrome, mainly because the duplicolor shadow kit didn't require it. And once I actually used the GM black paint, I figured with the coats of shadow chrome, that the paint would adhere to that. So far no issues, buts it's only been 3 months
