Rail Dust on Silver paint keeps returning...

So I noticed these tiny rust spots on my truck about a month after delivery and I clay bar'd all of them off. Went to do a nice hand wash this weekend... all of them are back and THEN SOME. Has anyone every actually said something to the dealership about these damn things or do I have to clay bar every 2 months?! I'm afraid to even tell them since I don't want their service people doing a half ass detailing of my truck...

Did you follow up the clay bar with cleaner wax? Like Meguiars cleaner wax that comes in their claybar kit?

Or did you just clay and wash and leave it?

I washed, bug/tar remover, clayed, and put on a coat of Meguiars NXT

Unfortunately there is no easy way..

My truck is white and shows them even worse! Not just rail just either.. It road contaminents, and everytime you step on your breaks and everyone around you.. those microscopic metal shavings from breaks break off and attach to your paint.

Best thing ive found, spend a day washing real good with dawn soap in the water, clay bar, polish , and wax. This will keep a good layer of protection from it actually embedding in your paint.

Damn yea. Then idk. I had an issue of rail dust on my last car. After clay and cleaner wax it never returned. What color is your truck?

I believe there is a product called IronX you want to try. I have never used the products but have seen good reviews.

I took mines in twice. They took off majority of the rust, but I still have a couple really fine spot that if you don't look really good, you won't be able to see it. This stuff is really irritating me!! Especially cause my truck is White.

As said it is not rail dust all the time, but more so from when people hit their brakes and the dust comes off super hot and lands on the clear coat. Then once it gets wet it rusts causing the spots.

Clay bar the vehicle, then use a good carnauba wax. I stay away from the synthetic waxes personally.

It will always happen. Still happens on my 2010. It's from particles getting on the paint. I started a thread on this subject in the appearance section. It's not your dealers fault. Happens to all vehicles
