Bearings or brakes

I have a noise that sounds like its the brakes in the back left but i have know idea what it could be its like a metal on metal screeching / high pitch sound can some one help me out I just did my front wheel hubs so maybe time for my back

I'd think brakes.Pull the wheels and take a look. The rear has no hub bearings like the front. The bearings are lubed from the differential fluid. Doubtful that would be the problem, but could be. Have the brakes thoroughly looked over

I don't know if it's the bearings I did the front wheel hubs 5000 miles ago is it time to do the back it only has 80000 mile for a 2000 I hear aloud high pitch sound as if I were stopping at a stop light with bad brakes but when I'm still rolling and off the brake.s so is it my bearings going bad I checked my brakes 1000 miles ago and they were still in great shape if some one could point me in the right direction that would be great thank you

Is it my bearing or brakes how do I tell what's going on I did my diff fluid 10000 mile ago and pads and rotors 25000 miles ago I have 80000 miles on my 2000 5.3 1500

Grinding noise? Humming noise? Speed related? Only when braking? Whats diff fluid look like? Any metal on diff plug?

00 had the rear discs?

In all the RWDs I have had, cars and trucks I have never had rear bearings go.

My 01 with the rear calipers sometimes I would only 12,000 miles on them before pads and rotors were eaten up. Problems with the emergency brake set up too, pads and seizing cables. It is an easy check, jack it up and pop the tires off.

Disc brakes have squealers, little metal tabs which indicate when the pads are done. Discs don't retract the same as drum brakes so once they get way down it won't matter that much with your brake pedal pressure, they will squeal.

Depending on when the noise appears and type of noise, also look into u-joints
